What is wrong with my tach?
Ok this s*** is really pissing me off! When the car turns on it's fine. It idles great! When i hit the gas (and i mean really hit the gas) the tach doesn't run smoothly, the car will but the tach does not. It skips numbers on the way up. Then when i am cruising on the highway when it is at a certain RPM it will just studder and skip. It does not go completly dead. Before i get an after market one what is wrong with the stock one?

You might need to check the white wire coming off the igniton coil and the coil itself. If the problem is not there, it will be in the tachometer on the instrument cluster. There is a diagnostic connector for the tachometer near the distributor on your car.

mine is doing the same thing from 4 K to 6 k. It jumps bad between these numbers. What does the diagnostic connector for the tachometer near the distributor look like?

I thought it might be the coil because its kind of loose. Ok just wondering what it was. Thanks.
