This just happened recently, not sure what the cause is. all four of my headlights do not work. they don't come on, don't even get power. The bulbs are all good and the low beams are H4s, but this isn't the problem, I've run H4s for over 2 years now with this car. The foglights, and turn signal lamps (side and front) come on however as do the gauges, tail lamps, and the interior lights when I turn the **** to override, which is the big mystery. Anyone have a clue as to what the problem might be? I thought there might've been a relay or fuse that went bad, but there are no relays or fuses for the headlights alone that I have encountered. Car is an '89 camaro.

Check your dimmer switch which is mounted at the base of the steering column. This is the switch that turns the high beams on and off.

I assume the dimmer switch is inside in the car near the firewall and not outside? do you have a picture of it. there is a rats nest of wiring and nothing seems to stand out at all.

That is because it is on the top side of the steering column and to get a good look at it you will need to lower the steering column. Here are a couple of pictures for you.

thanks trickster. Would it be more common that something came loose or that the switch is broken and needs to be replace in your opinion?

I would check the wires at the switch first and then replace the switch if the wires appear to be okay.

I'm pretty sure I've found it. its a whitish looking thing on the steering column with a single plug going into it. about 3 inches away from it are the brake light actuators.
