Hello just a few questions about my formula. I had the engine and trany rebuild and didn't take any pictures before taking the engine out and guess what I'm having problemsrunning the wire harness. when I took the engine out I took off the front of the engine (alt, air pump ext) and when I put it in I put all of that stuff on the engine. so it seems that all of the wiring harness are short. the one group of wires has the starter wires and alt wires the only way I can get them to reach is to lay the wires on the top of the intake manifold. another group of wires comes from a group of wires from the passanger side and goes to the sensors just below the plentum one is the temp sensor but the only way to get them to reach is to snake the wires behind the alt and air pump and the wires are right next to the block. my concern is will these wire melt. does anyone have some pictures of there engine compartment that show a good way of laying the wires out. It is a 87 pontiac firebird formula 350.

You'll have to be more specific. Where are the wires coming from? Say something like: Where does the wires go that come out of the firewall on the passenger side (under the heater hose connections)? I'm pretty sure the Haynes Manual shows the wiring bundle...can you pick one up at your local parts store? If not, send me an email with a fax number and I'll try to fax you the diagrams out of my Helms shop manual.

Thanks for answering. I did find out where these wires go. there was a cover over the top of the junction where the air pump hoses connect. not sure what this is called. but I did get it running and had it done in time for a car show and the cruise afterwards. It was fun. Thanks again
