Sppray the **** out of it with pentatrating oil. PB Blaster is is the best by far. Spary it for a couple of days if you can. Hit it two times or whenever you can a day. But spray it good. You must also have to have the car on ramps or jacked up high enough to get inder it. Get the right size 16 point box end wrench. I can't remeber if I used a 24mm or a 7/8. But check with new new. Make sure you have a good wrench and not that China junk or you will busting knuckles. Unplug sensor. I used a propane torch and heated the threads then slide wrench on and hit firmly with a hammer to break loose.Hopefully you are lucky and do not round off the sensor. If you do you might want to use a small pipe wrench but it is tough as hell to get it in there. So soaking it in PB Blaster for a few days is critical. Hope that work for you.

If you're replacing it and don't care about the one you're removing, just cut the wire and get it out with a deep socket or an offset box-end wrench.

When you install it, you can take an old socket of the proper size and cut a slot in the side of it with a cutoff wheel. This will give the wire somewhere to go so it doesn't get damaged.

Some places also sell the socket with this modification already made, called an O2 sensor socket.

And definitely the PB blaster for removal.

Use some highi-temp copper anti-seize if the new sensor doesn't already come coated with it.

Then unfortunately, the only other thing left is to start removing things to make room for a large breaker bar.

You also might be able to drop the four bolts that bolt the Y-pipe to the exhaust manifolds to let the exhaust system drop down and make some room to work.

If you don't have the breaker bar, you can slip a long pipe over the handle of your ratchet or wrench to give you some extra leverage.

They also say to run the car and remove it while everything is hot, though I've never had to do that.

Last resort? Use a torch to heat it up. Try it while it's hot, if it still won't budge, heat it then hit it with some water and immediately try it again. This causes the metal to expand and contract helping break some of the rust bond while you work it. Repeat as necessary. Use a BFH.

I say last resort because if you're not careful you can end up accidentally welding the sucker together.

Heat the bung up, not the sensor...

I didnt have a whole lot of trouble with mine I just got a deep socket and a 10" attachment, and did it while the engine was still hot and was careful not to burn myself it was pretty easy. Go figure.
