need quick help....metal clip in column
I tore down my column to install a new windshield wiper control arm/switch
(some idiot put a column from a different car into it and used a pulse/delay switch and the car is not equipped with a pulse/delay motor.....chaos ensued with the control arm functions)
well i got everything under control (except the damn wiring is driving me crazy fishing it back down through the column)
there is this V-shaped metal clip with a hook on one end of the V, popped out from somewhere around where the tumbler mechanism inserts. I didn't see how it popped out and can't figure out which way it goes back in, or what it even does.
any help would be appreciated.

There is a square hole near the tumbler. You should also have a white with two steel things on it.The steel sticks up.Put the other under the white peice and put both in the hole.I just took my column apart.I found a exploded pic of the column but cant rember the thread.

The columns also have differnet parts and assemblies depending on if they are Tilt or non Tilt columns, so that information might also be helpful.
You can find some details on a tilt colum in this thread...

I am not sure if this is the one dustpucher was refering to.
