Adding a LCD Screen

Ok so I got a portable DVD player with 5" LCD about 3 years back needless to say the batties won't charge but it works perfectly with the AC and DC plug. So I want to put it into my camaro. I'm want to make it so I can hook it up straight to the car (No cigarette lighter plug) So anyone help figure out where to hook this up.

Re: Adding a LCD Screen

simple, buy a fuse holder from radio shack and remove the fuse from the cigarette plug and cut the cigarette plug off. Put the fused wire on the 12v+ side and find a hot wire and ground the other. If you want it to come on with the key, then find an ignition wire. Thats how I hardwired my radar detector and other such devices...

Re: Adding a LCD Screen

sounds good till you said cut the cigarette plug off. As that is the only cigarette plug in a camaro that would mean losing some stuff like charging (phones, ipods, etc). I'm looking for a clean way that well not be noticeable. so I'd like to keep what i got already in there. i have one idea. I do not have fog lights and as the grill I have on it is not the best for fog light could i use that fuse?

Re: Adding a LCD Screen

I mean cut the cigarette plug, not socket. I still use my socket for the same reasons, cell phones and such... You can just open up the center console and hardwire to the wires that feed the cigarette socket.
