Power locks are both dead
All my electronics are fine except my power locks. Did some searches but can't find my answer. The fuses are all fine so it's not that. Is there a relay in the fuse box that could be bad and killing both switches? If so which one is it? A relay is not like a fuse, you can't just look at it and tell if it's bad. Is there some other component elsewhere that could be the trouble? It is a 91 z28. Also the power windows both go up and down real slow, does that mean both motors are going? If so why would both motors develop the same problem at the exzact same time. The battery is fine. Thanks Mike

Do the power door locks move at all? If they do move they just might need a good greasing with lithum grease. I would do this to the power window motor and the metal guides that help move the window up and down. You'll have to remove the door panels to do this and remove the plastic that covers the door so you can get at the door locks and window motors etc. I did this and my door locks work fine now. My windows still seem a little slow, but it is a vast improvement.

PDL relay is bolted to the body behind the driver's side kick panel, by your feet. It's a golden colored dual relay box... One being for "Lock" and the other for "Unlock". If the bolt is loose, you will lose your door locks, since the relays both ground through the bolt...

Re: Power locks are both dead
There are 2 metal circuit breakers in your fuse-box. One is for the windows and the other controls the power locks. Since you know the windows are working - swap the 2 circuit breakers and re-check the Locks and Windows.
Most power lock problems are due to corrosion at one (or more) of the system connecting points. Many time a power lock system can be fixxed by cleaning all the connecting points. Start at the buttons and that harness, and them clean the plugs and the connection at each power door lock. ( Your door lock relay is NOT grounded to the body. That was in done in the earlier cars; your VATS starter enable relay should be mounted in that spot ! )
The Power locks in my last IROC didn't work at all when I got the car. After cleaning up the connections I now have both buttons and 1 power lock working ( 1 lock dead )
As far as the speed of your windows - they are all slow ! Since you will need to remove the door panels to clean ( or possibly replace ) the lock soleniods it's a good Idea to grease the window tracks and lube the power door lock systems while you are in there. A well lubed set-up will work much better than one that's dry and crusty. Keeping the window seals soft and treating the glass with Rain-X also helps the windows operate faster.

Re: Power locks are both dead
I have a similar issue, one day both doors stopped opening. I can actually hear the relay clicking beside the kick panel when buttons are pressed, but nothing is happening. I read the article, but cant find the CTSY fuse, its not in my fusebox... The other one is PWR ACC is good. Any help? Thanks!

Re: Power locks are both dead
ok so i tested the orange wire on back of switch has 12 volts push unlock button blue wire gets 12 volts but when i push lock nothing on the black.so i jumped from the orange to the lock wire and the relay clicked but locks didnt move.same thing at relay.i dont see as how the motors could be bad if they unlock but dont lock. but if i put 12volt to lock at the relay samething clicks but doesnt move.ive cleaned and greased both doors work great by hand but they wont lock electronicaly.so any ideas what it could be im lost.thanks in advance.

Re: Power locks are both dead
i have one that will not lock unless i hit unlock first and unlock the doors. not sure why but if i do that they both unlock then when i hit lock they both lock.
its almost like they dont want to lock unless they see you used the unlock. must do something to the main switch.
