Car: a 91 rs convertible and a Iroc z convertible
Engine: 305 tbi, and 350 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
Best Damn Alternator.....Please!!!!!!!

Just about down with my Iroc, but i am still having charging issues with the sound system on. I did the ''Big 3 upgrade", i have a yellow top Optima battery, but my volte drop dramatically with my system on. so...

WHO MAKES THE BEST DAMN HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR? THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP. 180AMP OR HIGHER? and also...

I KNOW A SMALL/BIGGER PULLEY MIGHT BE NEEDED, ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS?

could look at some semi truck alternators or use a pair
of cs144 type delco alternators wired in parallel-done
this before,worked good.the problem with many
aftermarket high output alternators is in order to get
the thicker winding wires on the stator the number of
winding turns is reduced-this reduces the output at
lower rpm.If you don't mind extra weight and complexity you could install two seperate batteries in
the car-one for the car,one for the stereo.

have you ran a huge wire from the back of your alt to your batt yet

maybe a dual battery set up w/isotlator

springhill alternators.....

I ordered a 220amp CS-130 from them and I am running the "Big 3" and just recently dual batteries (just to be safe) and I have no problem.

Lights are brighter, system sounds better, and my gauges are more accurate so in all it was worth it

Oh and you can't beat the price either since it cost me like $230 for the alt and he put a large post on it and a overdrive pulley for free.

thanks for the replies guys. Do you think that i can get away w/o using the 2nd battery if i use the 220amp CS-130 alt? i have a convertible and dont have much space for the battery..thanks
