Car: 2005 Audi A4 Avant
Engine: 1.8T
Weird ignition problem
1991 Pontiac Formula
5.0 TBI swapped out for carbed 350
*New starter*
Main wire to starter is hot
No power to solenoid
Wires going into the cabin through the firewall are hot
The alternator is out for a one-wire conversion
The computer is gone
Almost the whole wiring harness for the computer has been removed
I suggested that the circuit is incomplete with the alternator removed. The guy that had been working on my car while I was away says the alt being removed shouldn't matter. What the heck do I know, right? Anyway, wiring isn't my thing and apparantly it isn't his either.
Could it be the VATS? If there is some stupid aftermarket alarm installed, could that be causing this problem?
I have a combat start switch kicking around somewhere that I said he can use to bypass the factory ignition switch. Will this work? Any advice or suggestions would be great. I'm sure other members may find it very helpful as well.
