starter dead?

i have a 1992 camaro rs 305 tbi, i ran up to advance autoparts to finish installing a toggle switch for my cooling fan. the whole time i was wiring the switch the battery was disconnected. so i had finished installing the switch and connected the battery to try it out. it worked but i went to turn the key and nothing. the electrical comes "on" but when i turn the key to start it there is nothing no click or any type of noise just nothing.

i have no idea what could have happened. i checked all of my fuses and wires to see if i had burnt anything up but everything seems fine. and the car started right up before and the started sounded normal no slow starting or anything.

does anybody have any suggestions where i should start or has anybody had the same problem?

STARTER STOPPER

Using a long wire so you’re not under the car and jump 12 volts directly to the solenoid.

You only have to do that for a fraction of a second if you hear the solenoid click.

Post your findings here for further diagnosis.

Fog lights are not driving lights. They look dorky. Turn em off slow pokes.

How bout those dorks too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime!

If my test does not activate the starter, the starter is bad.
