The high beams on my '92 trans am aren't working... I'll pull back on the turn signal switch, and get nothing. The low beams work fine... How do I fix this problem?
check to see if the linkage is all connected properly to the switch on the steering column, i had this problem and all i had to do was adjust the linkage a little bit
If the wheel is tilt - try the turn signal lever at different positions on the tilt. Mine works when the wheel is tilted all the way down, but won't always work when I have the wheel adjusted for driving.
There is a rod that runs down the length of the steering column and pushes a button on a switch that is just above the brake pedal - alot of times the switch needs readjusted - there are 2 7mm screws that hold it in place - loosen those and move the switch very slightly up the steering column, retighten, and see if it helps.
i have the same problem and i tore apart the covers and a plastic part fell out when the cover was removed and there is nothing touching the rod for the high beams, i dont know how this part goes on or if its the problem, help?
My Formula had a bit of play in the steering wheel, and pulling the lever only worked about 10% of the time. The pivot pins in the tilt column had backed out. Once they were pressed back in the high beams worked perfect again.
