Need help with high beams not working

The high beams on my '92 trans am aren't working... I'll pull back on the turn signal switch, and get nothing. The low beams work fine... How do I fix this problem?

Re: Need help with high beams not working

If the wheel is tilt - try the turn signal lever at different positions on the tilt. Mine works when the wheel is tilted all the way down, but won't always work when I have the wheel adjusted for driving.

There is a rod that runs down the length of the steering column and pushes a button on a switch that is just above the brake pedal - alot of times the switch needs readjusted - there are 2 7mm screws that hold it in place - loosen those and move the switch very slightly up the steering column, retighten, and see if it helps.

Or the switch itself may have gone south.

Re: Need help with high beams not working

My Formula had a bit of play in the steering wheel, and pulling the lever only worked about 10% of the time. The pivot pins in the tilt column had backed out. Once they were pressed back in the high beams worked perfect again.
