Gauge problems

I just bought a 89 Camaro RS v6. It's a car that I would like to fix up myself, however, I'm not too mechanically inclined. My first concern is that most of my gauges are screwy. Today, my speedometer started reading anywhere from 55 - 100+ while I was driving no more than 35mph. When we first got the car, it seemed that the speedometer was ticking and you could see a faint jump in the needle every time it "ticked."

My oil pressure gauge bounces all over the place, and the water temp gauge is stuck.

With half of them not working correctly, I'm thinking of just replacing the entire cluster.

1. Will that help the problems that I am having.
2. What are some good aftermarket gauges. I've always been partial to night glow but can't seem to find any for my 89.

Re: Gauge problems

May not be the guages, may be the sending units. I'd check there first, as that's alot cheaper than guages. Inquire on the V6 board to ask where the senders are located on a V6 car.
