Dash Lights Out
Hi guys! I have a problem, well had it for a while, but now working on this one. My dash lights are still out and it's annoying because I can no longer use the car when it gets dark. I did some research and people that installed and aftermarket stereo said they experienced this problem. I have one, but it is not installed, it is just sitting in there without being hooked up because I have to buy an adapter for it.
I have no interior lights, as in when I bought this car the previous owner stripped all the lights from the inside. Would that be a cause for having no dash lights? Would the radio being an open circuit be the cause of this? I saw people talk about a new dimmer switch because it could be bad, but also saw people post about a bad transistor? Which one should I check first? I'd like to get the lights fixed so I can drive it at night, haha!
Thank you!

Darn Dark Dash Dilemma
Well you can still drive it.
It’s all about pointing it in the right direction and stomping on the loud pedal!
It could be the dimmer wheel but first do some measurements.
Using a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe the dark green wire with the WHITE stripe going to the dimmer wheel.
When you rotate the wheel back and forth — what happens on the meter or test light?
Then probe the brown wire.

Then probe the probe the plain dark green wire.

Re: Dash Lights Out
You might need new dimmer switch to fix that problem. Its located under the wheel to the right near the radio
