whats the sensor on the passenger side, near the back or the block.

Car: 1988 Camaro, Holley 600 series.
Engine: 350 w/350 TPI heads
Transmission: 90+ 700R4
Axle/Gears: not sure
whats the sensor on the passenger side, near the back or the block.
Here's a picture of two things I need help with actually.
(sorry for the bad photos, I have no camera and have to use my computers webcam).
The first one is going to be a bit difficult to make out. Its the only gold thing in the picture, its a sensor of some sort on the passenger side near the back.
If you cant find it follow the headers back and you will see it. If you need me to I could try and download a paint program that will allow me to circle it.
The second picture is that wire I'm holding. It comes from the conduit where all the wires connect to my starter. Does this wire go to that sensor?
I'm starting to think the guy at advanced sold me the wrong parts.
The last pic is the wire that I bought, it looks a lot like the one that connects to the top of my manifold.
I need to know what that piece is on the passenger (which the old broken one looks like the new one I bought, I just don't know what the connector piece looks like because it was broken.) I also need to know where I need to solder the new wire I bought.

Axle/Gears: Moser 12-bolt w/3.73 & Stock

On my '87 TPI car that is the secondary electric fan switch. Mine has a single wire connector. Whatever yours is it is checking coolant temperature and either opening or closing that two wire circuit. Mine grounds the wire. My guess is somebody swapped in a newer style on your car with the two wire.

Well, my fan comes on automatically. Someone said the previous owners installed an aftermarket fan in it.
But my problem is that the second picture is the only wire that doesn't have a place to go. It's a single wire so I have no idea what to do.
Someone on this site told me that the gold piece in the picture was a sensor that made my engine go into a closed loop or something.

If that loose wire is Green than ( like ACCLR8N siad ) it probably goes to the Coolant temp switch for the fan. If that loose wire is Blue than it's probably the Knock Sensor wire.
That 1st picture appears to be a 'mirror' image and kind of screwed me up for a minute ! Looks like your asking about the knock sensor. You need a 1 wire knock sensor,...... The 2 wire plug is wrong for the 1 wire sensor.

Reviewing a wiring diagram and Rock Auto, your car originally had a single wire fan switch. If your fan is a working aftermarket unit, you can ignore the switch in the passenger head.

There are aftermarket switches available that require a corresponding two wire plug if used. The extra wire is grounded.
Is your fan on all the time? Is your check engine light on?

My fan is on when I turn my key to accessory. I can take a picture of how that is wired so you can see, ill do that tomorrow.
Nope, the only check engine light I had was when I first got it. I pulled the codes, bought the part, and it didn't come on since
