Are the Fiero and Firebird headlight motors the same?

Engine: 305
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Are the Fiero and Firebird headlight motors the same?
Are they the same? my Headlight motor is screwed on the drivers side and I can get a junkyard motor for $20

the fiero is an 86 and my car is an 86, at the junk yard there is a 87 firebird but I heard the motor style changed in 87....

I could be wrong, but I don't think they are compatible. Much cheaper to buy a rebuild kit w bushings on ebay and fix the one you have.

I was reading on the fiero forum that they are just reversed, like the Left side is the right side and the right side is left side :P strange how it all pans out.

They are the same. Be aware of gen 1 and gen 2 motors (not interchangeable). Gen 1 motors have a larger, finned **** on the top, have internal contacts for start and stop and are a general PITA to keep running. Gen 2 motors have a smaller, smooth **** on the top and rely on the control module on the firewall to shut them off and on.
Both are plentiful at junkyards and usually need only an internal bushing replacement and a cleaning up to make them function well again. Grab the control box while you're there - spares are nice.
