Re: hatch pull down

Check that you have 12v at the blue wire that plugs into the red/white stripe wire.

Re: hatch pull down

I have a similar problem I connected the red/white wire to the fuse box and when I get the motor to come up and latch the hatch it will pull down but when I go to release it won't come up .... The yellow wire is for what ?? Hot at all times ???

You need to verify that the pull-down unit is completing the down cycle. If it has stalled out before reaching the down cycle and you release the latch. It will never come up until you have it complete the remainder of the down cycle. If the latch has released the hatch hook and the unit fails to cycle up, reach in and press on the striker-sensing switch. That switch is just in front of the latch, has a small black plastic paddle and is attached with a single hex-head screw to the latch. If the unit cycles on then CLICKS, this confirms that the motor did not complete the down cycle. If so, mark the outside perimiter of the frame to the body of the car with a scratch awl or permanent marker (this gives you the current location before you adjust the unit). Loosen the 3 13mm screws that attach the frame to teh body and raise it up a bit, then re-tighten. Now test that the pull-down unit cycles all the way down and that you hear a CLICK as it completes the down cycle. That is the sound of the reversing switch being tripped to end the down cycle. Now when you release the latch the motor should turn on and power the unit all the way up and CLICK ending the up cycle. Good luck.

Re: hatch pull down

I ended up wiring the motor a toggle switch since all the wiring was covered by the po by dino mat and didn't want to waist it pulling it al back off
