Re: 91 starting problem

Sounds like high resistance in one of the battery cables. Need to voltage drop the battery cables to see which one is causing the problem. Anything above .5 volt is considered high resistance.

Run a wire from the small terminal on the starter solenoid that has the purple wire on it to your batt.
Touch it (hard ) on the Pos terminal
If the same clicking happens you have the problem mentioned above with your main batt cables.bad , dirty , loose connections usually
If it now cranks over properly, you have a problem with the power from the Ign switch
which includes the switch ,starter relay , P/N switch and the wiring in between.
A bad contact anywhere on that circuit will prevent full power getting to the solenoid so it clicks

Re: 91 starting problem

Hi guys were still having the problem I've replaced the battery starter ignition switch and from what we have seen resietence wise the cables seem fine. Were not sure what else it could be. Also yesterday when I started my car my thermostat was dumped all the way to the right and the Battery gauge was at about 11 the heater also wouldn't turn on as I was driving home I had to slam on the brakes and boom guage went up thermostat worked and heater worked im lost
