Dash lights are out??
My car is an '87 Firebird same as in my profile, shes been a work in progress for about 6 years now, and shes finally all put together and ready to drive again, but i have to work out all the bugs first...
so i took my dash out removed all the hvac vents and such, cleaned and painted everything, ground out the only rust spot on the car(under the heater core) and painted with epoxy primer...
yesterday i put the dash back in, all my gauges are working(at least the needles are moving) but i have no lights for the gauges, bulbs are all brand new LEDs
ive deleted the radio and all the hvac controls but the wiring is still there... a friend of mine was telling me i might have to put 12v ign to the "grey wire" ???!!? i have a grey wire with a black wire wth a connector end on it, would i have to cut the connector and ground the black and put the 12v ign to the grey???? is anyone in the NEPA area that could come and help me with this problem?? im also having a little trouble tuning see details on my build thread, link is in my sig, thanks for any and all help

Re: Dash lights are out??
I'm having a similar issue. I would check the headlight switch. I think that's responsible for closing the contacts that supply power to the bulb sockets. Or maybe the circuit board contacts are not seated properly and not making good contact. That's my opinion but I'm not 100% sure as I have not fixed my issue.
