Blower motor fitment

Im installing a 1LE ac delete box on my 91 RS. The box came with a one wire style blower motor (older?) and with this motor it fits perfect in the firewall hole. I swapped the older looking blower for my new 91 blower (2 wire). With the newer motor installed the cage on the motor doesn't line up with the hole in my firewall. Is there a difference between the ac and non ac blower motors??? Could I fix this by simply buying a newer non ac blower?

Yes.

The "early" style blower motors are specific to AC or non-AC applications and I'm pretty sure they are not compatible. I also recall that the later style blower motors had a 2 wire connector compared to the early style motors with 2 separate power and ground leads.

Don't think that any AC type blower will fit into a non-AC box. I can't recall if the later non-AC blower motors were 2 wire or not, but converting the wiring should be pretty straight-forward........ ( Just Power and Ground )

Re: Blower motor fitment

You can use the AC blower motor in a non AC box, you just have to use a non AC blower wheel. The non AC blower wheel isn't as wide. They are other posts about this subject.

A bit late to the party, but perhaps someone else will find the link below useful as there are differences in motors and cages/wheels (note the pics, info and part numbers):

Thanks for the info. Swapping my non ac wheel alone didn't fix the problem

Re: Blower motor fitment

#PM 102 appears to be the early style motor, with one wire. Im looking for the PN for the later 2 wire plug design. Can someone dig up the PN for a 91 camaro NON ac blower motor
