I did a search first, but couldn't find anything close to what I am wanting to do. As my sig states, I now have a 85 Z28 5.0l TPI and looking through all of my extra 3rd gen parts (Some I'm going to sell soon), I found a Billet Small Cap Distributor. What do I need in order to swap out the stock Coil in Cap Distributor?
That’s it on the wiring. You need to splice in the coil to ignition power and the tach lead with supplied harness.

Yup, just a coil, and some wiring adaptation. Very simple and plug & play. The 2 distributor types are functionally identical, their components are just packaged differently.
The first image is the coil power and tach wire. Right now these are hooked up to the drivers side of your hei.
the second image is icm wiring. This goes to the passengers side harness flat 4 connector that’s hooked to your hei. Converting it to the small hei plug.

Thank you. It's been 16-17 years since I dealt with the harness of a 3rd Gen and I just couldn't remember what that flat 4 connector went to. Unless this new ICM on the original CIC (Coil in Cap) distributor, that I'll be putting on in 2 weeks, is not one of the reasons to get it running, then it will be a month before I swap it. When I do, I'll do a write up w/pictures for this thread I started. Like I first mentioned in my original post, I couldn't find anything close to what I am going to do. Unless it was in another part of the tech boards under something else, it should be here in Electronics. I'll just edit my first post to add the write up and pictures.

there are two brackets. One that goes to the back two intake bolt holes on the passenger side.
then the coil bracket mounts to the top of it.
