Re: Stock ZZ4 pushrods

Measured roller crate motor pushrod lengths, such as these to be about 7.200 inches. The actual measurement was at 7.194.

Re: Stock ZZ4 pushrods

The set out of a ZZ3 mtr measured 7.194. Maybe the ZZ4's are different pushrods?

Does not quite make sense being as they both use the same cam, unless the ZZ4 uses a different leght lifter, which I doubt. Used a set of harden aftermarket pushrods in my ZZ3 mtr and they measured 7.200.

Assembled a 350 Vortec roller mtr and used shorter lenght Comp push rods at 7.150.

IMO. 7.122 inch for those ZZ4 rods is a typo.

Re: Stock ZZ4 pushrods

The zz-zz3 did have different pushrods. I forget the part number for the older stuff but they were for guide plates. The ZZ4 has self guided rockers which is why they changed them. From what I read both GM products are good. As for the length difference, not sure. Maybe different heads?

Maybe the length is a typo but its off GM's site.

Re: Stock ZZ4 pushrods

This ZZ3 mtr had wider than normal push rod guide plates, along with self aligning rockers.

Always thought that ZZ4's used the same valve gear, (except for valve springs/retainers) set-up.

They both use the 113 Corvette D exh port head.
