Oil cooler/filter adapter studs needed

I am nearing the end of a long project to build and install a 383 into my 1982 Z-28. I want to install the GM oil cooler on the engine. But I cannot find the two special studs that attach the filter adapter to the engine. Normally they are just two bolts, but on oil cooler equipped cars they are studs to keep the oil cooler in alignment and prevent it from turning and leaking. Does anyone have the two studs left over from a project or parts car? Thanks, Andy

Andy if you can not find the bolts, I have a new adapter (14092135) that I will sell you for $25.00 + the shipping. If you would like to see a picture send me an email address to attach it to.

Thanks, I have a new adapter, it's the special studs I need. I have actually attempted to make them myself, but that didn't work out too well. Thanks, Andy

The adapter that I have has the bolts. I just don't want to have the adapter without the bolts

Re: Oil cooler/filter adapter studs needed

There are two styles; non-oil cooler style uses bolts, and the oil cooler style uses studs which contain a boss to keep the oil cooler in alignment.

Andy,

Trust me I know what you want. One reason that I ask for email addresses when I sell items is so people have an opportunity to see what I have. The bolt that you are talking about holds the oil filter adapter attachment to the block and has a pin that protrudes down into the oil cooler.

Re: Oil cooler/filter adapter studs needed

Wbspoon,

I was reading up on alot of the articles on the Modine units. I had some remove motor for me. They are no longer available to help to the motor back in & did a poor job pulling it & separating things for me to make it eady to put the motor back in AND it appears things are missing. I have a 1987 Chevy Camaro IrocZ. Somehow pieces of the Modine cooler unit went missing. Specifically it appears im missing the center bolt that attaches, fastens everything together. I believe the unit is called KC4? My unit has a #14092135. Beyond the unit, which appears to be one piece, the 2 lines, which I have, the hollow bolt & snap ring I dont have. Is their more to this unit im missing? I hope you receive this. Thanks for any help. I can be reached at 484 239 5224. Thanks, Darin.-

Re: Oil cooler/filter adapter studs needed

Darin, I "may" have the missing two bolts that retain it to the block.
