You could just do a direct swap. Get some V8 motor mounts and a V8 bellhousing for your tranny. Not too bad.

It's hard. Takes a lot of time, especially if you need to go through emissions testing/inspection.

See this post, rather than repeat myself.

That's true and contrary to what I posted in the other thread, the TH-700R4 doesn't have a removable bellhousing.

I still don't know what I was thinking when I posted that

Sorry 'bout that...

Um. If you're really experienced and have done a huge number of swaps this one is relatively easy. Probably like a 1 or 2. If you've done a fair amount of engine work and know whats up with everything in your current setup and have good general foundation of knowledge and experience I'd give it a 3 or 4. If you've maybe changed your intake, installed some headers but really are a ******* mechanic (even if you are unknowningly!) and maybe have done a little self tuning I'd give it a 5 or 6. If you've never done a swap b4 and you at least have upgraded your ignition and changed over to a K&N air filter and understand what a "piston" is and what its supposed to be doing it'll probably be more like a 7 or 8 . If you have no knowledge of anything mechanical at all I'll give it 9 or a 10 (depending on how smart you are) .

I think that about covers it :hail: :lala:

On another note, why not just throw a 350 in there instead? Sell whatever 305 you were gunna use and put it towards the "build me a nice cheap 350" fund.

I think this is where I fall in .........It really isnt too bad, just alot of work that requires alot of time and thought..and research....I figure I will never get out of it what I have into it, but I plan on being the last driver of this car.

Mine was emissions-legal, so that made it more difficult.

For reference, I've swapped a V6 into a Vega (actually two different Vegas), and the big block into the '57. The V6 to V8 Camaro swap was harder than either of those. Certainly took a lot more time.

Probably didn't have to worry about computers in the Vega and 57
