what factory gm cam shall I insert ----->
hey guys i don't want to do any head work to accommodate the cam because when i eventually go forced induction I will be ditching these heads most likely any how and the cam so i want a used roller cam with as close to .450 lift as possible and i figure a factory cam would be the cheapest.
thanks for reading!

LT1 cam is a bit small for an 11:1 engine (even with 10.4:1 and aluminum heads the stock LT1s have spark knock issues because the cam is so small, and a big 117* LSA), but the regular LT4 cam wouldn't be a bad choice.
Look at Crane's website though, they have lots of high performance cams that are low lift - called "stock lift rule" cams... most are around .400 or so lift, but duration from as little as 190* @ .050 all the way to the 240-250 degree range. Maybe worth a look.

I'ld agree with everyone else and say a stock LT4 cam. Air_Adam is right Crane Cams does have the "stock lift rule" camshafts but their all way to tight on the Lobe Serperation Angle "LSA" for computer controlled or forced induction. Their lobes are between 104-108* lsa.

yea I will probably go with the stock lt4 cam and 1.5 rockers. and you are correct i want it to work with my heads as they are now, but I also want ti to cost $30 and on top of that I could run a little boost on those cams because they have enough lsa

I ran this cam (240 rwhp) with ZZ4 valve springs on stock L98 iron heads (disclaimer- stock except I trimmed the bottom edge of the valve locks .030";, deburred the trim to eliminate stress risers...) for 10 years and saw a few trips to 6K. It works. Bill

Re: what factory gm cam shall I insert ----->
hes right if you want higher lift you can buy cheap +.050 keepers basically anywhere as long as theyre 7 degree. the also sell +.050 retainers that i know manley sells that fits stock size springs.
BTW burnout91 what other mods did the car have when it dynoed 240whp? 350 i assume?

When it made 240 hp, it had the ZZ3(4) cam, Edelbrock TES (the dual diameter primaries version), Edelbrock Hi-Flo base, SLP runners, Bosch 22# injectors, and most of the minor / free mods. Yes, 350 cu. in. Bill
