Swap to a 5-speed

I just fially got my 305 out a few hours ago I am also switching to a 5 speed and was wondering what all I need to do to switch to a 5 speed?

Speaking of this.
I was thinking about swapping to a 305 instead of fixing my V6, need something to do now that all other cars are working

Can I use the same gearbox (5-speed manual) that is currently bolted to my 2,8 or is it too weak for the 305? I know the 305 came with manual transmission but is it the same?

No, V6 T5's and V8 T5's are different. Most notably the bellhousing, and the internal gear ratios. Some people have successfully used a V6 T5 with a V8 bellhousing on a V8 engine, but its not recommended.

Search the Tranny/Drivetrain forum for more info. Its a pretty common question.
