Lock nuts needed for headers?

Will be installing SLP headers in the next couple weeks was wondering if I need the Stage 8 locking header bolts? Have been told headers will loosen up and leak. Will regular lock washers work? I only want to do it once.
Thanks

Yes, header bolts like to losen up and create exhaust leaks. The Stage 8 bolts are the best way to go. Lock washer could work btu the trouble is you'll never be able to get them on. The clearance between the bolts and header tubes is too tight.

The best thing to do after you install your headers (with the Stage 8 bolts) is drive around for a few days, then re-tighten all the bolts. At that point I'd install the locking clips.

Thanks BretD, I'll do that along with new motor mounts just to eliminate another potential problem.

The right size lock washers will work fine, I used them on mine and have not had a bolt loosen up in 8 months.
