exhaust idea
I dont know if its been posed before or not, a search revealed very little. But here it goes. I currently have SLP shorties leading to a factory exhaust with no cat. What i am curious to know is this: i want to place a flowmaster Super 40 in there somewhere. I want to keep the single pipe with dual tip design. If i fab up a 3" pipe welded to a dual 2.5" pipe leading to the tips, like the muffler eliminator design, where can i toss the Super 40 for best fitment? The case is only 5" x 10".
I dont want any "why run flowmaster, they flow like crap." Ive gone over the options. This is my cruiser car, not the performer. So i dont care about flow quality. I want sound quality. If the no-cat will create a popping on deceleration, is there a way to fix that other than placing a cat on?

they make a single in dual out super 40, but if you really want to run the single in single out muffler, id say the best place is in the stock location with a y collector directly after the muffler, and make a u bend for the passenger side pipe. or you could just run one exit pipe, on the drivers side, sound wise will only change a bit, performance none.
