problems with installing headers.....help
ok i started to install some headers on my brothers car and ran into some trouble at the beginning....i had no trouble taking off the drivers side headers, took about half an hour....then when i started with the passenger side i ran into trouble almost at the beginning...i took off the front 3 screws but got screwed with the last three...i am half ways with taking off the fourth one from the front back and the last two i have no clue how to remove...my freakin ratchet is pinned while trying to remove the second to the last and i am guessing that i will have to take off the black du hiki thing that is behind the ac condenser...so help please...and this is a 1991 Camaro RS, 305 TBI...and the headers are shorties, and dont ask what kind..i made the mistake of buying some load of crap from ebay Primary tube diameter: 1 1/2 in. * Collector size: 2 1/2 in. got it from scotty's speedshop...hope they end up good...but i wont find out until i get them in so please help....thanx........

Try getting at them from under the car. You can place your wrench 180° in the opposite direction of going from under the hood.

Those back bolts are tough to get to, try from underneath and be really careful not to round off the bolt heads, big trouble then. Try a 14mm wrench instead of a 9/16 to get a tighter fit. I'm not so sure headers are worth the aggravation unless you're really into racing.

well guys thanx and the only reason that i am installling the headers is cuz i have them there and i am not using them on my car so i decided to use it on my brothers since he has a third gen also...and i tried from the bottom already and thats how i got my ratchet stuck in there....basically i tried taking out the bolt with the ratchet since i cant use a wrench cuz the stock headers have a heat shield and that prevents me from using a ratchet...also since i already have the drivers side off and almost the entire AIR system off....well i kinda hate to go back and replace everything i already took off....but i guess i will see how it goes tomorrow when me and my brother go at it again....we really dont have much of a choice but to get it done tomorrow...otherwise we will have to take it to a shop and have them install the headers....i hope this is worth all thise hassle.....better be....thanks for everyones imput....
