4th gen Borla CatBack
Back when my car had the stock TPI on it i had a Borla Catback, i loved it, only complaint is that for 3rd gens they do not come with the square intercooled tips..
I am swapping an 01 LS1/T56 into it now and i want to get another Borla Catback but i'm thinking of getting a 4th gen Borla so i can have the better tips, which needs less work to fit on our cars a 93-97 Borla catback or the 98-02 catback, what exactly needs to be modified?? I've heard they need minimal work, i'm not to worried about it i'm really good at welding and fabricating but i'd liek to use whichever one is easiest if at all..
Thanks,
Mike

Car: 92 camaro
Engine: 355
Transmission: 700r4
I have done it and is very easy to do. Just get the 97 edition exhaust. then from their make some hangers and thats it. You may be able to buy hangers from a 97 chevy camaro and then just bolt it on. Mine came with hangers.....

i have run about 3 or 4 4th gen cat backs on my car and the only modification I had to do was getting the intermediate pipe to line up with the factory pipe after the cat(s). I bought the SLP installation kit for their loudmoth kit and it worked perfect. I am running a 4th gen B&B tri flo right now and I use to have the SLP LM. The only other slight issue you may run into is the angle of the tailpipes but that all depends on the manufacturer and the design of the tips. Some have a tendency to be angle downward to much and you may have to use a universal hanger just behind the tips and secure it to one of the bumper bar bolts. Nothing that requires a lot of skill.

Nice!! sounds nice and simple.. I am getting the hawks long tubes and ypipe so that'll connect to the borla, shouldnt have to do alot of work getting it all on.

How do u like the B&B, i heard it over on ls1sounds and i did like it alot, what other 4th gen exhausts have you run, whats your fav so far?
B&B is an option for me, i just like that the Borla is adjustable but i guess it'd be easy for me to weld my own cutout onto a different exahstu and get the same effect, only for track use..

I have run a Borla, SLP LM, SLP TOTL, and now the B&B. I cant really confirm my likeness for the B&B righ tnow since I do not have a cat on my car and it just sounds real loud and annoying to the general pubic. My past setups where run with 2 SLP LS1 style cats. The LM was louder and just didnt sound tuned at all. I got sick of hearing the Borla especialy with the open plate. the SLP TOTL was a nice fairly loud but not to bad setup and I only changed that one out to try the LM and I just never went back to it. I also have a new Hooker Areochamber setup that I may try after the cat goes on if I dont like the sound of the car with the B&B still on.

I thought B&B sounded really good, i'm not sure if it was with or without cats. I dont think i'll be running cats at all, although your makign me think about it. hawk's sells the ls1 LTs with or without cats so i can still get the high flo cats if i deside to.
That is one reason i like the borla tho, run it through the muffler and its actually a nice tolerable sound, flip a switch for an electric cutout and make everyone deaf
