the movie "cars" gave me a good idea

Gents i went to see the movie cars and i thiink i saw a pretty cool exhaust system, to me anyway. I like the idea of sidepipes but i hate amount of ground clearance i'd lose. Anyway i noticed on the main character in this movie, Lightning McQueen, had a set of side pipes up under the ground effects but the exhaust tips stick out. I was thinking that would look cool on my firebird instead of running true duel all the way back to the rear bumper. Any ideas or suggestions shoot me a wire.

i've seen a couple of thirdgens with the single cutout in front of the rear tires.. it was ok but you could see the whole exhaust since it hung low. i seen cars alot, it sounded ok, but it was also animated

the main thing i am thinking about when i saw this is that it is a shorter distance for the exhaust to get out of the pipes . I would have to think that it would help my HP and fuel economy
