Anyone have any experience w/ these mufflers?
I'm not really looking to change my muffler yet, but when I read this, it got me to thinking. I've been following the 'F-Bomb' articles in Hot Rod magazine*, & read that these mufflers are supposedly designed to address the one issue that I have with my exhaust:
Now I know that a lot of people don't like Flowmasters, but the way that my exhaust is designed (single 3", stock routing, cut off about 1/8" below the bumper cover - basically no visible tailpipe), I get a bit more noise in the cabin than I'd like. The easy way to reduce that would be to extend the tailpipe, but I REALLY prefer the look that I have now. I feel that it's a 'clean' look - powerful, without being flashy or gaudy.
So, if anyone has any before-&-after experience with these, I'd sure like to hear what you have to say about 'em... Thanks all.
*(Even if I can't afford to duplicate it, it's cool to see how it's done, & once in a while I might even get an idea to use on my own car...)
"There wasn't a lot of room for large, quiet mufflers, so rather than selecting Flowmaster's standard 40-series, two-chamber mufflers, we tried the 40 Series Delta Flow, which are designed for reduced interior resonance on late-model cars. They sound plenty rumbly at idle."
So, if anyone has any before-&-after experience with these, I'd sure like to hear what you have to say about 'em... Thanks all.

Re: Anyone have any experience w/ these mufflers?
i got a delta flow on my ranger right now.. gotta say its not the loudest muffler, but it does sound good, dunno about any performance gain or loss tho...
its also the 4.0L V6 engine, and not the crappy 2.3L I4, it sounds good.
you can hear it a little bit in the interior of the vehicle about 3000 rpms or so,, other than that i dont really notice it.
