I have this one on order at a great price:
http://banditexhaust.com/catalog/pro...oducts_id=1260

jegs says it is 49 state legal... so you must be in California?

You could check with these guys for exact parts advice (and then compare the price at banditexhaust) http://www.magnaflow.com/

Re: where can i get a 50 state direct fit catalytic converter 4 bolt flange with air

the only one we can use on our cars, unless you want that little 2 1/4 one [its stock number 36015] is the 3 inch magnaflow 36019 it has a valid CARB number for 2009. CARB number d-193-86
and they days are past when we could be pickey about such things. get the 3 inch and weld a flange onto it. they will run you about 150.00 per cat.

here is the dmv site for the next meeting - http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...ftermktcat.htm.

and here is the list of acceptable aftermarket cat CARB approved - http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...xemptcat09.pdf.

and you cant beat bandits price - list 443 for magnaflow - make them an offer of 275 and they will come back with the real proce - 317.00. THAT IS A GOOD PRICE.

Re: where can i get a 50 state direct fit catalytic converter 4 bolt flange with air

Yeah it has a four bolt flange on each side. pretty sweet. i was hoping to just swap it out and be on my way. i dont want a Catalytic converter that would get me into trouble with the EPA in California. The smog check here is so strict. I needed a new cat because it sounds like pennies rattling around there. i think it was tripping my knock sensor, and constanly retarding the timing till it just stopped working. I can crank the engine, and it turns but no fire. I check the fuel pressure, its normal but slowly starts the drop. My guess is the piece of crap neopearn hose on the fuel pump is leaking.. im thinking dirty fuel filter created too much back pressure and bam. but then again i havnt kink the return line to check. the injectors are 18 months old, and the pressure regulator stock and fuel pump all 18months. i figured the spark plugs and wire were arcing, so i swapped them, i tested the ignition module at autozone, tested the resistance with the pickup coil, and tested the cap's coil resistance too. all good. everythings getting power, and even sands corroded rotor and cap. but it the process of replacing the plugs, i broke the Fan switch temp sensor's connector pigtail above the knock sensor. it wont be here till tuesday though. and i need to go pick up another timing light and distributor wrench, i lost mine at a buddies. by then ill try turning her over. just a fuel filter change no tank dropping. but that the reason why i want the fourbolt, to help remove exhaust. sure i can go get it wielded on but i got to get it running first. The really weird thing was, i drove it for 3 minutes, turned it off, then 2 minutes later it would just rotate but not fire. i think maybe maybe i flooded it, but i got too impatient and called a truck. damn

Here's the L69 four-bolt, but it's 49 state legal: CTO-4116, IIRC.

Re: where can i get a 50 state direct fit catalytic converter 4 bolt flange with air

i got the magnaflow catalytic converter today. im going to install it hopefully b4 sundown. i need to get gaskets but i gota go check each store. im afraid i need a air pipe too, because the old air emissions pipe it wielded. I got it running again. i just did a maintence check, found some shorts, replaced wires, sanded cap and rotor, and new plugs. all warranted. . i timed it, and it runs sweet. the fuel pressure drop isnt hurting me that much. but it runs, and im going to swap the bad cat with the new cat. THe Magnaflow has pictures on the box saying they wield them better than competition. YA RITE>i could do way better wields. They say magnaflow is hi flow, maybe a little, thats a bold statement though, i looked at it, ehhh. doesnt matter anyways, what matters it is all legal cali catalytic converter. made after JAN 1, 2009. i got it for $222 at autoanything.com they have promotions that take bucks off, and always free shipping. . thanks. ill post my response after i install and shred it. lates

I havent installed the converter yet, its a bad coil prolly, ill take some pics of the cat

Maremont makes a crappy-flowing one. Is Random Technologies still in business? I'll bet Magnaflow makes a decent one.

Re: where can i get a 50 state direct fit catalytic converter 4 bolt flange with air

i was wondering how do connect the a.i.r. pipe to the converter? i was thinking of getting some jb wield or a putty that hardens. A clamp? I have to order a new air pipe, the old one is welded to the old converter. sure i could cut it, and slip fit a regular pipe on but how i connect with no leaks. this is like the only thread that comes up about cats in this subject.

Re: where can i get a 50 state direct fit catalytic converter 4 bolt flange with air

i found JB weld, but its putty. very nice. im just going to order gasket material, cut it to the flange, and replace the air pipe with a sleeve pipe from a hardware store. then use that jb weld putty to add the new A.I.R. hose to the cat, and bolt on the cat to car. ill have pics tomorrw btw i replaced the electronic in the dizzy, pick up coil, ignition control module, coil, runs again. finally.
