Dyno Dons + Y-pipe + no cat + straight pipe, all 3 inches. Enough for a 383?

If I Replace my exhaust manifold and y-pipe with Dyno Don's, and then have a 3inch straight pipe (no cat) from the y-pipe back along the stock exhaust path to a catback system like (maybe) this one...

Would that be enough flow for a built 383, or would some sort of true dual system be a necessity? I don't know anything about what the top end is gonna look like yet other than it will be carbed and be just enough to put 350+ at the rear wheels.

In short the answer is yes.
But you should be more specific on the 383, Any power adders? ,Intake system, heads cam? street / strip car? Be more specific with the cars overall goals.
But for 350RWHP, the DD headers and magnaflow should be perfect. Sound nice too. Alot of guys go overkill on exhaust, 99% of the time a setup like u want is more than enough.
BTW, Dyno Don headers are prob the best shorties made to fit our cars IMO, wish i had them on.

Cool, thanks for the info. To be more specific, there will be no power adders, and a simple cowl induction hood+open air cleaner + open air lid. It will be a daily driver, and it's primary intention will be to be able to drag nicely, smoke r!cers at stop lights, ect. As far as heads and intake manifold go, I just don't know yet. However I am pretty sure I'll be going for a 4 barrel carb.

I hangout with Dyno Don at his shop sometimes. So far here in Socal his headers was used on a 406cu and made 403hp and 439tq. You can't go wrong.

For better flow you could build a system like this. If money is not that big of a deal you can't get a better sound and life out of another set. This is made of high quality Stainless Steel for long life span. I've had mine on for 10 years now drive it in snow, icy roads with salt no rust yet. You can build a system modeled after this a lot cheaper just may not last as long. Someone had a post with the flow numbers on a bunch of systems and the best was a straight pipe 2nd was the Borla system. The key to this system is when the muffler builds back pressure the extra pressure goes out the other pipe.

Some places have it a lot cheaper than they do so shop around.

Re: Dyno Dons + Y-pipe + no cat + straight pipe, all 3 inches. Enough for a 383?

I have his y pipe with the headers, along with a 3 inch catback. Seems to work great for me. But I did put a 3.5 inch cutout right after the y pipe, since a 3 inch exhaust would not flow enough for me. I only use the cutout at the strip. I would definately buy dyno dons setup. Perfect fit and great workmanship.
