Headers with y-pipe
I finally removed the stock exhaust headers on my '86 trans am and I'm going to replace them.
What headers would you recommend me? I have a stock y-pipe so I would need a set that comes with a new y-pipe so I know they're a perfect fit.
I was just about to order Flowtech 16102's but after reading a thread on them I'm having second thoughts.
People seem to love Hooker 2055's but apparently they come with AIR pipes which I don't want as I have no AIR system or even a catalytic converter. My exhaust pipe is stock but the previous owner had the converter removed and installed a new muffler + tail pipes.
My car will never have +350hp so I don't want to pay too much for the headers. But I do appreciate quality over everything else and I don't want any headaches with badly made headers.

Re: Headers with y-pipe
I bought some cheap shorty headers off ebay for my sons
85 trans am and ran dual 2.25" exhaust straight back with
24" long glass packs.
I shake my head when folks on this board make a big deal how to run dual exhaust, there plenty of room
to run dual exhaust straight back like any other dual exhaust system.
Where going to put a 454 in next with long tube headers, some 2.5"
exhaust pipe and dump at rear axle, he wants it to make more noise.
