Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

I'm in the midst of buying an 88 Camaro roller to replace my current cancerous hulk. I'm $500 short right now, and need to come up with it in 30 days. As such, EVERYTHING has got to GO! NOW!

I don't care if I have to cut it out with a torch. Ask and you shall get it.

I'm keeping the following from the Bird:
Suspension, front AND rear, and rear axle
V6 engine and T-5 NWC trans, rebuilt
Lower radiator support
Gas tank with carbed sending unit
Hatch and spoiler with 3rd brake light
Washer fluid and coolant overflow tanks
Bird dashboard. The 88 has no dash at current, just the lower bar (was going to be converted to a no-nonsense drag car so the dash was trashed) and the instrument cluster.
Front fenders
Hood
Headlight assemblies with motors
Air dam
91-92 Formula bumper cover and parking lights
Bumper reinforcement bar
ALL wiring harnesses (Camaro has NONE)
ALL power window and lock parts that are installed now, but have a set of window regulators with motors available (motors are old and VERY SLOW but work, may want to give the tracks a good cleaning with fresh grease)
Gray GTA door panels with armrests and trim. I do have one pair of GTA-style (along with late model Bird) door handle/lock trim available, but it's been painted black over the charcoal.
Heater box assembly.
Manual floor shift boot.

Available:
Pair of T-tops with zippered bag. Zippers work but do NOT have the pull tabs on them (don't know why, but they don't). Tops have locks (will provide a key, but the original key was so smoothed out that it didn't clamp down into the cutting machine properly and it takes some finagling to get the keys to work). Weatherstrip, from my old 87 tops, is good. I don't think the drip edges are anything but barely acceptable, however. $200 FIRM plus shipping. I paid $200 plus tax for the tops and another bunch for the bag. Also have a rust-free (but it has been eaten by rust in a couple of spots before I cleaned it up and sprayed it with Rust Bullet) t-top center bar.
Windshield... $75 From an 85 Z. Ready to install.
I have one driver's side and 2 passenger's side door windows available. Also have ANY and ALL door guts anyone could possibly need (except lock motors and associated parts, and window triangle seals. Have triangles but no seals on them). $40 each plus shipping.
Passenger's side battery tray. Some rust on the bottom, could use a good sandblast and paint before installation. I DO NOT have a driver's side tray. $20
Floor pans. Everything forward of the rear front seat rails and rearward of the rear seat wells is available. What's in between is no good. Seat rails also available.
Brake master cylinder and proportioning valve... $60. Drum prop valve. No booster unless you have a bad one and have the pushrod that actuates the M/C handy as I seem to have misplaced both of mine .
Windshield wiper motor, both 87 (if I can find it) and later style with the washer pump in the washer tank. $25 each. The 87 motor has a good washer pump in it (or it was good when removed, anyways).
Windshield wiper transmission. $20.
Gray Sunvisors... $20 for the pair.
Brown (russet, I guess) main carpet. $50.
Manual trans brake/clutch pedal assembly, NO SWITCHES. $30. NO CLUTCH HYDRAULICS, either.
Side mirrors. $20/each. Have 2 of each side, one of the driver's side mirrors is loose enough that it doesn't hold position when you close the door but is easily brought back with the manual stick. Manual passenger's side, remote driver's side.
Still have the Bird air box assembly (excluding the MAF). I need to find the mounting plate for the passenger's side battery tray (and yes, it has rust on it but not bad).
Also still have an FI fuel tank sending unit. V6 pump. Make an offer as I think sometimes the gauge sender doesn't work for some reason.
I have a pair of doors I pulled from an 84 T/A. The driver's side has had the rust treated. Passenger's side has not, except for what was around the lock cylinder, which has been cut out and replaced (but the patch hasn't been welded in yet).
Bird center console. Automatic shift plate, has not been cut for power switches, IIRC. Armrest has a cross-shaped tear in it. Starting to separate at the bottom.
Spare tire compartment floor. Has holes in it along the edge that goes against the bottom of the quarter panel. Easily welded shut.

I have a whole box of seat track trim for manual front seats. Name the part number and I probably have at least one. There is one corner on one of the seats I only have one of and I'm keeping. No screws for these.

Parts I DO NOT HAVE, so don't ask:
Any of the old gray interior parts. Most were broken and all were painted black.
Again, the driver's side battery tray.
Weatherstripping. May have door weatherstrip available later, but not at current. Top strips on the body are no good. I'm keeping EVERYTHING else.
Hood release cable. Mine broke, end of story.
Windshield reveal molding. Same as the hood release cable.
Windshield mounted mirror. It had delaminated in the middle at the bottom, and has been canned.
Bird radio pod. Only have one good one. Sorry. Same goes for the trim plate. But I DO have a Camaro trim plate.

All prices PLUS shipping, especially on anything larger than the side windows. Make offers, but I'm going to be FIRM on the price of the t-tops.

The Camaro is chock FULL of parts. Interior parts, mostly, but it has a pair of torque arms and track bars in it (stock). The tan interior has crappy spray paint on it and is useless. The seats (tan) are torn to shreds, not sure about the other set as I never saw it. There are 2 consoles. There is a lot of carmine interior in it, but I'm pretty sure it's incomplete. I don't know the rear axle ratio but I know it has drums. No engine (guy's keeping it) and no transmission (sold), and I don't believe there is a driveshaft, either. Gas tank has a fuel pump for a TBI engine. No exhaust. Rims will be for sale when I get the car here. JUNK tires, however, as the car had been sitting for a while before being brought to its current location. May or may not keep the front clip and GFX on it. Haven't decided yet. There is no carpet except a couple of misc pieces of red that I'm keeping. Hardtop. Has a 3-point strut tower brace inside, but not mounted. The guy will be out of town all through the end of next week.

Again, ask and it's probably available except what's above. If the price is right, I have a full set of 91-92 Bird GFX (EXCEPT the front fender air dam pieces!) and Formula non-GFX rear bumper.

NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING!!! LARGE STUFF IS PICK-UP ONLY! I'm half an hour out of Rochester and an hour out of Buffalo. I'm desperate for the money, and have 30 days to get it!

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Nobody? I know there are a couple people on here looking for a battery tray and front floor pans... And nobody wants a spare set of tops that lock?

Going to clarify a couple of things...

I'm keeping the 91-92 Formula front bumper cover, but the REAR is available (no GFX, looking for one with GFX). It's black, but it is in need of a repaint.
T-tops are from a 91. I drilled a couple stabilizer holes in the frame where the weatherstrip sits so I could screw down the 87 weatherstripping instead of having to glue it like later models. Does not affect use and allows adjustment of the strips.
Side GFX DO need a repaint, BAD. Black paint was chipping and peeling off and revealing the red underneath when I got them out of the box, and some of the red has spider cracked.

Going to add that I have almost new GM front corner air deflectors for the pre-90 cars (for the 4-piece air dam). Bought new from GM in 2003. $20/side. I'm keeping the other 2 pieces I bought at the same time.
Also have my 85-90 rear bumper cover. Not GM, but a decent aftermarket. I started stripping it down to the urethane but never finished (bought the Formula bumpers before I finished). Front is no good. Also have both front and rear bumperettes, GM, still. And also have a front bumper cover reinforcement bar that is screwed to the cover at the top. May need some of the old screws drilled out, but still good.
Headlight doors for 82-90 cars. Have been repainted metallic black from red, but could use refinishing as they've been scratched. I also have a yellow one from another car I planned on using for another project but have never used. Needs refinishing as the clear is bad.
Found my other pair of headlight motors. I'll check them later to see if they are in need of anything, but I doubt it.
Firebird rear side marker lights. I bought these because mine were cracked. These aren't. Also have black trim rings to go around them, that have been threaded for real nuts and not those speed nut things that always either break or come loose. I don't have the red trim rings available as one got bent upon removal. No fronts. Only have one good set.
82-85 tail light wiring harness. Got 2, used one, with the early tails. Don't need it.
82-85 tail lights with harness. DO NOT HAVE THE CENTER. Harness has been modified to have the outer 2 lamps act as the brake and turn signals instead of the other 2, and is loomed in Red. Tails aren't perfect, but they're not all cracked. Stripes could use a repaint. I think there might be some overspray on one of them, but that should come off easily...

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Pics here:
http://s988.photobucket.com/albums/a...%20for%20sale/

Yes, the stuff is dusty. Most of it's been in the garage for 2 years.

The white marks on the GFX in the pic are masking tape. That crap tape sticks worse than Krazy Glue. What's in the box at the back is another set of rear GFX, in Bright Red. No brackets with them.

Forgot I had lower outer 91-92 air dam pieces.

In the pic with the headlight doors is the 82-90 headlight brackets, that hold the sealed beams in place and do the actual folding up and down. Some hardware is included.

Found out I had ONE late-model t-top weatherstrip. Tore the other (thought I tore both until I found this one in one piece).

Found ONE spare radio pod. Separating at the bottom, as seen in the pic, and around the heater vents. Front separation is able to be covered by the trim plate.

Haven't located the driver's door mirror with the loose stick yet... Will keep looking.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

I have no other option... I'm trying to keep myself on a deadline, and I already missed the first one last year. The project isn't exactly dead, it's just moving on with a newer body that's already had the extensive body work done (floor pan has been replaced from the firewall to the back seats and has been painted a metallic red). It was either play games with trying to get the welder to work (and more $$$) or find a rolling chassis for dirt cheap. I wouldn't call $900 cheap, but it's the right deal at the right time. It's too bad the guy didn't try to sell a month or so ago or I'd have the Camaro outright by now and it would be nearing completion. I don't like the fact that the Camaro is a hardtop with manual crank windows and no dash, but it's better than watching mine rust. I'll be selling parts off of the Camaro when I get it here. I should have figured the Bird to be DOA when I found the huge rust problem in the rear quarter area back in 2010.

Update: Sold one 1227730 already. One left. Have 2 F-body mounting brackets for them (didn't realize I had 2, only thought I had one until I went to get the sold ECM out of the garage).

Also forgot I had another pair of rear quarter 91-92 Bird GFX. They're Bright Red, and don't have the brackets at current (I'll find them in the scrap bin but haven't looked yet).

If it's not listed, I don't have it... All 4 window sweeps on the 87 doors were trash, and the ones on the 84 were worse.

Just want to make sure you're aware that no switches (clutch start, brake light, brake cruise cut-out) and the hydraulics are not included along with the pedal pads (keeping to match my gas pedal)...

Let me pull them and get a weight and box size and get back to you.

:edit: Also have my full cruise control setup (vac module, computer module, both halves of the harness) for sale as I can't use it with the newer engine parts...

Prefer to sell the GFX as a full set. If I can ever find out how wide the Camaro rear bumper cover is, I'd know for sure whether or not these are going up for sale. If I can possibly use these, I'm going to. Make me an offer, but keep in mind that the door GFX alone are over 4 feet long and shipping isn't going to be cheap.

No hood insulation (was torn bad when I bought the 87 and I don't think the Camaro has any either).

Have to keep my seats intact until I can get a set from a 93-97 Camaro as the Camaro doesn't have any decent seats. I'll get back to you when I get the 88 as it has seats in it that the upholstery is crap on.

The pictures are not working for me (at work) but I'll tell you what I'm interested in. Im looking for a nice hatch w/ nice glass. I see you have one listed, is this something you can email me a picture of? Also, how is the roof / a piller of the car? I'm looking for sheet metal to fix some spots on mine. Let me know.

I think you may have misread... I'm KEEPING the 87's hatch and spoiler with the brake light. I'll have one available off of the 88 when I get it.

As for the roof, the 87 I'm parting is a t-top. I've ground all of the rust off of it and put a protective paint (Rust Bullet...yuck) over the spots. Most of the rust was on the windshield frame and the top center bar, and the bar has been discarded.

Not sure what you want out of the windshield frame and roof, and I'm DEFINITELY NOT shipping the hatch, so you might want to make the drive if you want them.

Yep, must have mis-read. Well since its t-tops I cannot use to roof, but I'm pretty sure I can use the windshield frame. I'm looking for the passenger a-pillar, as far down into the fender as you can go, and about 1/3 the way up towards the roof. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in selling.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

I can go down on the A-pillar to the bottom where it's screwed (GM screwed the roof in place before welding it at the pillars to maintain alignment, I suppose) and spot welded, all the way to the top corner. I'll cut it just below the corner of the windshield, but it might be a couple days before I can get a spot weld cutter for the welds at the bottom of the A-pillar. Some reason, the drill bits I have aren't cutting anything even though they're obviously sharp and COBALT...

cooltc, could you take and send me a pic of your damaged A-pillar? I want to give you as much of it as I can, but there is a limit to how far I can cut it off.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Hey,

Here is a picture from a while ago, the black near the fender is the rot I'm talking about. The car is currently under the knife and hard to gain access to at the moment. Let me know if this gives you a good idea. If not I'll do my best to snap a picture of the area. If the piece goes up to about the top of the side mirror, that should be more than enough.

How much do you have in mind for this piece?

Thanks,
TC

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Ouch... That's going to be a tough cut due to the fact that the cowl and the back end of the frame rail is right there. I'll see what I can manage without butchering the rest of the area too bad, but it's going to be a while.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Giving this a bump...

FYI, most of this stuff and other stuff I have is listed on eBay. Some stuff offered here is not. Anything from the Bird that I'm not interested in keeping and doesn't sell goes to the dump. I won't have room for it once the Camaro gets here and I have to unload that. Anyone else wanting body parts or glass (everything but the hatch glass is available) speak now or forever wish you had.

No windshield wiper motor with the washer pump in the timer housing. Can't find it for some reason. Late style is available.

:edit: When the Camaro gets here, the following will be available from that:

Interior parts (mostly red). Probably NOT a complete interior. Didn't see any carpet, period.
Dash parts. There is NO dash in the car.
Steering column.
Front end sheet metal. Hood (missing passenger's side louver), fenders, front bumper (IROC and Z28, I believe, with the fog light grille and fog light parts but I don't think there is any fog lights), headlight buckets with headlights.
1985-90? Ground Effects (if I can find a way to use the ones I have).
A couple stock track bars and torque arms.
3-point strut tower brace (if I don't decide to keep it for myself).

Probably other parts will be available but I don't know what all is crammed inside the car right now.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Sold:
T-tops with bag
ALL outside door mirrors
Manual brake/clutch pedal set
Passenger's side battery tray
Interior door pull handles from the 84 T/A doors

cooltc, I haven't forgotten you. Just need to get rid of some more stuff and get the 87 ready to go to the scrapper before I can cut the A-pillar off.

Also have ONE side of GM (I believe) t-top roof rail (NOT on the tops... those are in NC) weatherstripping (not sure which side yet but I'll post up when I find out) and the center bar available shortly, and the weatherstrip retainers that are screwed to the A and B pillars.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

Got the 88 today.

EVERY BIRD PART I HAVE MUST GO OR IT GOES TO THE SCRAPPER WITH THE 87's BODY.

Hood (small problem by the front passenger's outer corner)
Driver's fender, non GFX, non fender vent, small dent by the top corner. NO PASSENGER'S FENDER as the one I had off an 88 Formula was seriously messed up and the 84 TA's fender is worse.
91-92 Bird/Formula NON-GFX Front and rear bumper covers. NOT SHIPPING THESE. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
91-92 front air dam. Outer corners from the 91 at the junkyard, inner radiator support piece and lower piece new from GM in 2003 for the 87 (and yes, they all work together).
91-92 GFX, may take a while to find a pair of boxes for these. $175 firm.
Headlight buckets converted to 91-92 lights, one red door and one green door (driver's, IIRC), both have the closeout trim.
87 Bird headlight harness converted to 91-92 spec with relays for both high and low beams. Will trade for a Camaro front end lighting/wiper harness.
Front and rear bumper reinforcements and rear honeycomb. I've been waiting 8 months for the guy in CA to send the front honeycomb I paid for and still don't have it. Don't have the stock 87 honeycomb in the front either. Front bumper converted to contain 91-92 parking lights.
91-92 parking lights. NO FOG LIGHTS.
T-top center bar. Rust on the bottom but can be cleaned off and sealed. Upper was cleaned of rust and sealed already.
Will trade either an 82-84 or 85-92 base Bird tail light harness for a Camaro harness. I have 2 82-84 harnesses.
No dash pad. Mine was cracked BAD.
No doors unless you want to come pull the doors off that are currently on the shell. The others are junk.
No lower radiator support. Keeping it as the one in the 88 has been replaced with a piece of steel duct .
No battery trays. Passenger's sold and driver's was cut out to be replaced last year, never made it that far.

Anyone wanting tan seats LMK... The 88 had 4 of them stuffed in there (2 have serious rips that I know of and I haven't inspected the other 2 yet). NO REAR LOWER SEATS, JUST THE BACK. Also have other tan interior parts, but were spraybombed black. And don't have all of them. Will have manual window regulators from the 88 available as soon as I can get them out of the doors, when the weather gets better.

Only good cowl screen I have, out of 3 of them, is in the 88 and staying there. Sorry. The one on the 87 had the screen coming loose from the plastic and so does one of the ones that was in the 88, which is also not only cracked but partially broken due to the weight of the crap that was piled on top of it.

I forgot to get a couple pics of the top bar today. I'll see if I can clean the rust off of the bottom of it and get a couple tomorrow after I get out of work and before I start working on getting the 87 ready to go.

Re: Selling it ALL... It's GOT to go!

No engine harness for sale. The 88 had ZERO wiring in it (I just bought a full body harness for it) and the only good harness I have is staying with my V6.

Keeping the STB.

:edit: The good tan seats are both PASSENGER'S front seats. 2 different cloths in the same tan color. Don't know why.

I have a driver's side manual window regulator available at current. Will have the other available as soon as I finish swapping the parts into the door. Also the door handle brackets (actually have 3 of these), and a spare pair of inner door handles (the ones you pull to unlatch the door, not the pull handles).

The 87 was scrapped in August... Pretty much everything else I pulled out of the 88 and leftovers from the 87 that were good were gotten rid of a couple weeks ago.
