welding spider gears?

Car: 1991 RS Camaro
Engine: 305
Transmission: 5sp
welding spider gears?
i'm thinking about having a friedn weld my spider gears together in the rear end so i spin posi all the time.........my car doesn't have posi....its just a stock 305 5sp. do you think it will hold or tear **** up if it is done right?

it will break.

it will eventually break... its a matter of when.
big problem will be, when your axle breaks, the C clip on the inside doesnt hold the wheel on. and your axle and wheel may start to walk their way out.

Bad idea is right. I know of one case when a welded spider broke & jammed the rear axle, causing one totalled third gen. Fortunately no one was hurt, this time...
