Roof Swap - hard top to ttop
Hello, I have read few of the posts on here regarding converting from a hard top to a ttop by swapping ttop roof from a donor car. I know many parts of 3rd gen fbirds and camaros can be interchanged. My question is, can a 88 Firebird supply the donor roof for an 84 Camaro.

Yes it can, since the body mold was the same.
However, you'll have to use the 1985-1989 T-tops, which use posts instead of the clips that 1982-1984 used. You can readily identify them since they don't have any metal trim around the edges.

Well, it could but if it would look right would depend on where you cut it in the back… if you redid the factory seam (on the roof, leaving the pillar attached to the quarter) then you’ll be fine, but otherwise, the camaros and firebirds had different contours around the pillars and someone will notice that yours is “funny” through there.
