It looks like some High Denisity Plastic or something, I don't mind it that much.. as to a pain to work on??? you would just take some of that crap off.. It looks the same as if you were to open the hood of a Audi or a Lincoln they have those covers just like that.. Imagine what it would look like if he had a 4th gen windshield washer resovior and a small overflow can and those holes werent there.. I'm trying to figure out ; A. what type of intake is he using? B. What is that crap made out of that is covering the intake? Is it fiberglass? Is it sheet metal? what is it? Neat Idea for Ram/Cold Air intake though...

i don't like it, looks like he's trying to hide something under those covers, and that is definitely not the ram air used on the z06 corvette, it had to have been a custom built cover, kinda looks like he's got the dual snorkel tubes coming out of the sides of it.the plastic covers are all zip-screwed on, has to be a pain to work on you take those covers off more than twice and the holes the screws are in will start to get bigger and everything will be loose. it's a clean job but i wouldn't cover my engine. hopefully he's not trying to cover a ford product under all that plastic.

If you look at the picture and zoom in on it see the little insignia on it. That is the corvette sign. Aslo if you look at some of the other features you will see its from a corvette. But the plastic pieces around it have to be custom fabed. Not trying to argue just trying to show you.

Normally Ide agree with this... However, if he were trying to hide something, why would he go through the trouble of making see through inserts in the hood...to show off whats under it?

If you ask me..the guy likes that intake cover. Its definetly different. He obviously has some fab skills. And those plastic covers one the sides are pretty slick. Why look at all that busy stuff when you can have the main focus be his intake cover...again...what he likes. Besides, hot rod guys do this all the time. Most nice hot rod show cars have the engine covered. Chip Foose does it. I know this is no foose creation...but still. Same principle.

I bet if you take all that stuff off, it looks good under it all. Again, just judging by how much he put into the covers and making the hood and the outside looks clean...hard to believe he left the engine bay looking like crap, and is hiding it.

As for working on it.... What do you have to constantly work on that you would be going under them that much? He has the essentials easy access. Coolant, washer fluid, brake fluid... If he built things right under the hood, he shouldnt be needing to go under it THAT often.

Anyway..not tryin to argue one way or th eother. Just sayin... I dont think someone goes through all that trouble to make that stuff only to have a crappy car under it all. If it looked like it was pieced together from supplies at walmart, Ide agree he is covering junk up.

Those hood windows would display some custom LS1 fuel rail covers nicely though...

P.S....Not nit picking... but where do you see zip ties holding anything on?? Im willing to be that he has the black stuff riveted to some sort of light frame work, and it all probably comes off and on really easy. If it were my making them I know Ide do it that way...

Yes, it has a Corvette logo on it, but looks like a custom fabbed cover, not an OEM piece from a Corvette. Neat for a pure show car, but totally impractical for a REAL car. And emblems are easy to buy. I had C5 crossflags on the front fenders of my old Tahoe, but they didn't make it Corvette SUV.

I don't see the point in having the screened intake opening, yet the hood has no opening for any Ram Air or Cold Air? Where it is getting theair from? Seeping through the seams?

As for the hood, what if, instead of the stock 2 openings, the center bar was removed, and that was 1 big window?
