I got another vote for Vise Grips. I use them as a backup wrench on pretty much everything.

thanks bro. I took me a while to build up my shop. Got a great wife too. When she wanted to buy me a shirt and jeans for my birthday I would send her a link to some tool I wanted and she had never heard of and would buy that for me instead. Not to mention back in the day i used to make stuff in there and sell and that fuelled the majority of it.

LOL. Thanks man. THey have paid for themselves and then some. I actually built up a big majority of my little shop by making stuff and selling it. If I could ever figure out how to fix my wiring in my car I may actually get to making some stuff again!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the bottle opener for the beer, every tool box should have one.

Re: whats ur favorite tool?

I gotta vote for my 1/2" battery impact gun. lots of torque, and can carry it to the junkyard w/o needing a air compressor and hose to get tangled up in the way. took me 3 hrs to pull one strut at the junk yard. Took my battery impact and pulled 2 struts in 1 hr!

Re: whats ur favorite tool?

Not to sound corney, but my computer is my favorite tool.

Whenever something goes wrong with the car, it makes a funny sound, or starts pulling under braking, etc... I just turn on the computer, come here, and run searches for awhile. Never let me down yet.

Of course, for hand tools, I dont have much at home. I earn my living with alot of nice tools, but they are at work. I guess my favorite is my high torque Pan American air drill, with the Rhom keyless chuck. Very nice drill. Should have bought one years ago.

I tried posting a link, but either Im stupid, or its broke. Might be a little of both....

My favourite has to be my 4 foot pipe that fits over my ratchet handle, and of course my visegrips.

Re: whats ur favorite tool?

I'm with Uncle Tom... your brain is always the first tool that you should use and the most important. But it's immediately followed by my 4.5" Angle Grinder with a nice new cutoff wheel installed and ready to tear through anything! It's great for car and house projects and makes for some great stinky clouds of death that occasionally require total and immediate evacuation :-)

Re: whats ur favorite tool?

The door handle to the fridge. Its what opens the heavenly white shiny, rather cold box over in the corner of the garage, to a world of ice cold refreshing brews. Makes life much more bearable.
