I currently have what i thought was a 1989 Firebird with 305 tbi and 700r4 trans for sale. Not until recently when i ran the vin number when i realized that it was a 1989 firebird formula. The engine runs great never a problem with that i purchased the car from some kid in greenbay and he did the primer and looks like crap. I want to get rid of this car to finish my other car. Would like to get 1600 out of it. Thanks for looking Nick

i have pics but can only send them trew cell phone if you would like pm me with your number and let me know what pics you would like. I am about 20 minute drive north of lacrosse
Just so you know, the VIN number will not indicate if the car is a Firebird or a Formula so it could be a Firebird. A Formula is basically a Firebird with WS6 suspension. If the RPO does doesn't show WS6 it's a Firebird.
the vin number belongs to that car and that car only correct? So then why on earth would it come up formula when i run it if its not? and one more thing if your not interested in this car or would not want it in any way i would appreciate it if you kept your comments to your self

Well there is NO character in the VIN that will designate the car as a Formula and because of that Firebirds and Formulas share the same type VIN numbers and there is no way to tell if a car is a Formula by the VIN if it's a TBI car.
I'm not interested in the car but I would think any honest seller would want to be corrected if they were advertising their car as something it may not be.

Correct.
Post a pic of the RPO codes, 84pontiac. Thats the only way to be sure of what it is, or you can continue to be ignorant.
OK mr 2 posts, you just have no CLUE who you are dealing with here, do you? This is not a forum of idiots, and Denny has taken apart more third gens than you have seen in your entire life.
The scary thing is, that could actually be true!!!
