Make that 4! Don't leave me out. After all, I did get this convo started! lol
Come on, this is an awesome deal. $66 off the best runners out there. That money can go toward another mod, or anything else you want. Don't let this one pass you by!
Count me in! I'm going to email fasttoys and ASM and see if they want to offer the option for polishing. I'll let everyone know when I hear something. I'm in regardless.

Hey guys, I’m surprised I heard back from fasttoys on the polishing options so fast. They said they asked ASM about this and it’s a time consuming process. So there’s no discount for polishing. I’m taking it as ASM will offer polishing services to anyone interested. They have it listed as $150 bucks on there website. 1985-1992 Large Tube Intake Runners Now don’t quote me on this price as you may want to talk directly with fasttoys or ASM if you want polishing done. I’m sticking with the standard fine, and polishing them myself. You can’t beat the gp price on the runners, save the extra for another mod.
Here’s a copy of the email from fasttoys.
Chuck,
ASM doesn't offer any discount on the polishing option. They told us it is very time consuming.
Thanks
Fast Toys Performance

hey, LT1 any word yet on how were ordering.
or are we all just ordering now (or when we can) until that day.
Because AS&M needs a minimum of 10 orders, my idea was to wait until we have that many people confirm that they're 100% in.
Then, I'd email FastToys and let them know we have the 10 buyers and ask them what the best way of ordering would be.
For instance, should we wait until the end of the two week period and then all send in our orders at the same time (same day anyways) ???
Or should each of us send in our orders as soon as we have the money and they (FastToys) just save and gather up all the thirdgen.org order's until the last day.
That's basically what's going on right now. Hopefully, by the end of this week at the latest, we will have atleast 10, I'll email FastToys and ask what's the best way for us to submit the orders, and anybody who joins in afterwards, just submits them before the end of the following week.
But it is important that we contact FastToys by the end of the week just to confirm that we are interested in the discounted price, and it'd be nice to be able to tell them we already have 10 buyers.

I expect to see a few more people join in during the coming week. Weekends and holidays most of us are usually out with friends/family and don't spend too much time on forums so I'm sure there are some members that showd interest in the origional thread, that haven't been updated on what's going on and won't find out till the work week begins.
I'm pretty confident we can get something going here.
If any of you are members of other forums, you might want to consider spreading the word around as it increases the chances we'll meet the designated amount of buyers. I'm almost certain there will be some no-shows and others dropping out last minute so it's best that we have more than 10 people getting in on this to make up for the ones who back out.

ill post on corvette kill stories.com
iam a member there
I decided to contact FastToy's earlier today, just to tell them we accepted their discount offer and while I was at it, asked them what the best way of submitting our orders were.
Surprisingly, I just received an email response 5 minutes ago from FastToys. I wasn't expecting a response so quick considering it's a Sunday today. Looks like someone over there is putting in some overtime hours
Here's the deal.
Anyone interested in getting in on this G.P. can submit their orders at whatever time is good for them - so long as it's before the 15th of September. After that, FastToy's will send out all our orders to AS&M.
Apparently, they've received "a few" orders already MBremer just mentioned he's already placed his order, through I don't know who else has aswell. Possibly members from other forums I've posted this information in aswell?
Anyways, What I'll do is put a "submitted order" tag, next to the username of those who've already placed their order at the top of this thread.
I will be submitting my order this Thursday and Demon355 on the following Thursday (14th).
Again, please remember that when you submit your order to FastToy's, make sure that in the "comments" box, you mention something along the lines of
"......I'm a member of thirdgen.org interested in ordering a set of AS&M runners for my (insert the year of your car here). My username is (insert your user name ) and I was quoted the discount price of $349...."
That way they know who you are and will give you the discount.
There you have it gentlemen. Once you have the cash, place your order with the information above and you're set.
By the way, here's a copy of their email to me:
------------------------------------------
"....Hi Phil,
People can submit their orders any time between now and the 15th. Your submitting on the 14th is no problem at all. We will not charge anyone until the end of the business day on the 15th and then the runners will be built by ASM and shipped out as soon as they are done.
A few orders have already came in and they followed your instructions about the GP comment which is working fine. .... "
what do you mean, did you already submite your order.
yep,,,Just followed the instructions on teh w/site. Noted in the comments section that I was part of a group purchase price of $350.00 via thirdgen.org. Also noted that if the threshold of ten orders was not realized that this sale is to be voided unless they were willing to sell me product at the specified price.
Alright guy's, I've updated the thread above. We now have 10 people who are interested in getting in on this G.P. !!!
BUT.....
Being "interested" and "actually "submitting" an order, are two different things.
So far, we have confirmed that 3 members of thirdgen.org have already placed their orders, so technically, we have 7 more to go. As I said earlier, I will be placing my order on the 7th of this week, Demon355 on the 14 of next week. That you can count on.
Remember, once you've placed your order, let us know in this thread so I can update the information above.
Maybe we can get the same type of GP for the TPIS base?
Hey now thats not a bad idea at all. Its worth at least looking into. You never know what they may come back w/. I didnt expect AS&M to come w/ the price they did. Id be up for a GP for the TPiS base. So do we now have till the COB of the 15th to get the orders in?
Yeah I wouldnt be ready for the TPIS base for at least a month or so. Id be in for it if we could get another GP together for it. All we'd need is 8 more. May be worth a shot. Whats the list price for the TPIS base? Any porting involved w/ that one w/ the AS&M runners?
The TPIS "big mouth" base is an Edelbrock unit that's been professionally ported by TPIS to it's fullest. It's the best flowing base on the market and retails for $475 on their site. TPIS's site has been down for 3 days now so untill they get back up and running we can't get any further information about any possible group purchase's.
The Accel/Lingenfelter base is also made by Edelbrock and then ported by Ligenfelter but retails for a much higher cost of $549. Owners of either manifold have reported they all share the same Edelbrock casting number so it's a fact Edelbrock is basically the only company that makes a TPI manifold and just supply it to everyone else. I honestly don't know which of the two companies does the best port work, but haven't heard any bad reports from either one, so they'd probably perform very similar to one and other. I have yet to find any solid information that proves one is better then the other, and I've been researvhing the subject for the better part of a year now. Good info on these two TPI base's is hard to come by. Believe me.
I'm actually still waiting for an email response back from TPIS, as I emailed them a few days ago with a few questions about their base. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon with the information I need.
I'd be more than willing to get in on another group purchase within a month or so if we could get a good enough deal from either of those two companies.
Right now though, I think we're getting a little bit ahead of ourselves wondering about the next group purchase as we still don't know if this G.P. will go through or not.
Personally, I'm waiting untill the 15th of September when I get the confirmation email from FastToys we've acheived the 10 order mark, before I make any other plans to try and start another G.P.

Please reply to this email if you have any questions.
Thanks for your order. You are order # 4 of 10 required.on the group purchase. Should we not reach the 10 order total, you will be notified and the order cancelled. Thanks
The official count of those who've already placed an order, is 6.
We also have another 6 that plan on placing their order sometime between now and the 15th.
Like I said, I'll probably be placing my order this week around Thursday or Friday. Demon355 the following week. Short of anything catastrophic happening between now and then, that's a GUARENTEED 2 more order's placed which will bring us to 7.
Hopefully, all those who've shown interest, will be able to come up with the money. Then we'll have surpassed the 10 minimum requirnment.
I've been in contact with a few members from other forums and they've shown a lot of interest in getting in on this G.P. with us.
I'll be hearing back from them before the end of the week with final confirmation, whether they're in or not.
Make that 2. Just placed my order 30 seconds ago. WooHoo!! Can’t wait…. Just got my order # too. Should get confirmation about the GP soon. Come on guys just 2 more and we're off!!
