Car: 1984 Trans Am
Engine: GMPP 350 V8
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.23
The TransAm GTA was available from 1987-1992.

The TransAm GT was available in 1994 only. It is the top of the line T/A for 94. It featured the high rise spoiler and lots of standard options. 1994 was the only year for the T/A GT.

The car in the add appears to be a 91 GTA

The T/A GT in '94 was a dealer add on kit only. It did not come from the factory equiped as so. You had to buy the kit from GM parts. Don't bother looking for an RPO. If it was ordered as such, the car would have been delivered to the dealer with the parts uninstalled.

The 94 Trans Am GT was NOT a dealer installed option. It was a manufacturers trim level that included all available options in the TA plus the larger rear spoiler. (the Firebird spoiler was standard on the TA that year) I sold Pontiacs from 94-2000.

Like TPI terror said the GT was a factory option. 94 Production #'s break down by T/A and T/A GT. A regular T/A had Y82 as the RPO the GT had Y83 as an RPO.

94 T/A prod #'s (taken from Pontiac Firebird 67-00 photo history)

TransAm: 3852

TransAm GT: 6357* This includes 2,000 25th T/A's

TransAm Vert's: 468.

Well, i sure did put quite a few on.......made them GT's. Pontiac bodyshop, '91-'96. The kit came in a HUGE box. Although it could have been '93. I never put one on a car that was'nt sticker on the window new. I did at least a dozen.

From what i remember, it was the front cover, rocker covers, and rear spoiler. It was always fun trying to match "Purple Pearl" code 91, that i remember very well.

i dont know what kit you where Puting on thos cars but the TransAm GT from Pontiac was Naver a Dealer Add on i have lots of books that have the 94 GT in them, and as TPIterror said it was a Trim option not a Dealer Add on...

as for what you where puting on the cars, It must have been one of thos Dum Dealer things that Dealers like ford Do. Add a body Kit or some thing Dum like that and Ask for more money than the Car is worth. Id know I worked at ford we did it all the time

82 TRANS AM...Could you be refering to the Firebird GT package?...which for several 4th gen years was a dealer add on package. I have never seen one in person so I am not sure what it consisted of. I have heared rumors of it...Stencils and Stripes offers a Firebird GT style stripe (again not the 99+ slp one) its a 25th T/A style stripe.

I am not talking about the SLP Firebird GT.

If any one has more info on Firebird GT's Id love to hear it. Heck I have only seen a handful of the SLP ones! When did SLP start the GT 1996?

I know about the Firebird with the Sport Appearance package (96+), thats not what I am thinking of...

Or am I just imagining the whole Firebird GT dealer add on thing?...long day at work...sorry...
