Since today is the annivsary of the closing of Van Nuys I find it fitting to post the last Firebird built. After weeks of searching I have found the last '92 Firebird I'm listing the car by RPO codes.
Hmmmmm..... Camaro went out with a fully opted Z28 and power everything with leather interior and one of the most popular colors of paint....besides teal. The Firebird goes out with a V6, the FE1 soft ride suspension, map pockets, drum rear brakes, and 15in wheels.....
At least it was black.....

DavidM, did you used to work for GM or what?????
Thanks for the comment. The third gen F-car has basically consumed my life! "Did I used to work for GM?" No, I still do. I work for a local GM dealer and have access to very good resources.

12/29/1999 AL State Agency RIGHT FRONT IMPACT WITH A NON-BREAKAWAY SIGN (Case #:9121557)
i wounder why theres no info before 1996. so it was in an accident on 12-29-99. do you think it went to a junk yeard or do you think it is sitting behind someones house? is there any why to get a copy of the accident report?
If gets in a state like georgia which does no inspection it will only show up of carfax if the car is probably sold, wrecked, totaled, or scraped. This could explain the gaps.
You can contact the police with the case number. Police reports are public access. But... a 7 year old car with a front impact with a non breackaway sign, I'm sure it was totaled. The only thing is, did the guy who owned the car realize what he had.
Basically, he hit a metal pole head on and the pole didn't move. Which means parts of the car did move. I would guess if you did call the guy he would be thrilled and fill you in on all the info. Proably even provide you with pics. People like to talk about there cars. Think about if someone called about a car you owned, just to find out the background.
Not sure exactly how it works, but it may depend on your insurance company or it could depend on the state you live in, BUT if you total a car you have the decision to do 3 things:
1) Total the car send it to the scap heep - Get the payout
2) Total the car - get the Insurance payout and buy the car back.
3) Pay for the repairs yourself and not involve the insurance company, thus keeping a clean/clear title.
#2 sometimes you can't do as the insurance company will not sell it back to you for some reason...
