how hard is a ttop 92 Z-28 to find?

i read recently(somewhere, cant remember) that finding a ttop Z-28 during the 91-92 years is pretty difficult... if all goes as planned, in a few months i want to be looking around for a red/white/or blue 91 or 92 Z28, 350 of course, with no preference on the interior(either leather or cloth).. would one of these years be hard to find with ttops?

  • 83 Z28--ttops, 200k miles--very ragged out. sold, thank goodness
  • 74 Z28--slightly modded 383, TH400 tranny, not too quick but fun to drive

They didn't make a 350 with T-tops in 92 or 91. You can get a 5speed T-top 235hp 305 Z/28 which with the 5speed should be faster and more enjoyable than a Hard top automatic 350.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure they made 91-92 Z's with t's and a 350, but they are pretty hard to find cause there weren't many made. I remember reading that the torque blew the t's out of several cars Chevy was testing on a track, so then they stopped making them with t's.

I THINK - DON'T FLAME ME!!!!

go on ebay.. and make sure you get the right T's you can find them regardless of whether they were made or not.. I'm not an expert on whether they existed or not, but on ebay I see T's for trans and camaro's all the time.. make sure you get the right pins

I really wish we had a good answer to this, i would love to have had one with t-tops.

91-92 GM camaro spec:

305 w or without t-tops
305 automatic or 5spd
350 hartop(only), automatic (only)

people made 91-92's with 350's either by changing the 305 engine or customizing the roof; GM never made these cars.

the 305 with t-tops are relatively easy to find, everyone who bought a 305 pretty much added t-top as an option.

Transam's from this year on the other hand did come with t-tops though!

you can find one of these cars, but to get one done right usually isn't cheap. good luck!
