free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
Not sure if this is the right place to post this.
This is a GM manual that covers all 1984 friebird models as well as trans am's. It DOES NOT cover any other years and it also DOES NOT have any references in it about camaro's. It covers pretty much everything right down to electrical diagrams, body, injection systems, carbs, trans, engines, suspension. pretty much every possible thing.
I got rid of my 84 and not much is original to my 82 anymore. So figured one of you guys with a 84 firebird could make use of it. No pages are missing just the front and back covers are torn off.
whoever wants it has to pay for mailing it is all.

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
Considering I just swapped in a V8 interior harness into my old V6 car (LT1 now) I'm bound to run into lots of problems and I really don't want to dish out $100 for a manual one... lol

Those are great books to have. I got one for my 87 a while back. About 2" thick.
And yes, my camera flash sucks! I can't turn off the flash.

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
service manual, I've got it around her somewhere. I've got the owners manual too. I bought the car off the original owner. he actually had a firebird/trans am for each generation. I had the car for a couple weeks then decided to get the RPO sticker(which was gone already) and opened the glove box and that was there. I asked the guy about it and he said he bought it from the local library.

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
Yes the manual is still available.
To clarify. No this is not the owners manual. This is sorta like the second picture posted.
No it is not a chilton manual LOL
This is a Genuine GM service manual and here are chapters that are in it
General information
heating and air conditioning
frame and bumpers
steering/suspension/wheels and tires
final drive
brakes
engine (all motors covered)
transmission (all trans covered)
chassis electriical
accesories
All pages are perfectly scanable and no pages are torn.... just the front and back coveres are torn off is all .. I got the book way back when when my 84 trans am was brand new from a service writer.
Rather it go to someone who will scan it all since theres more then one party interested in it.

I'll do it, I don't mind may take some time though Or J dezzy can do it also as I read.
Edit:
As J dezzy has an 84 I'll give him first dibs on the manual.

I would definatly scan it and put it into a .pdf document for everyone who wants it. I bet they'd even post it on the board if I submitted it.

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
maybe a list should be started of who wants a copy???
I know I'd like to have a copy since pretty much everything in it would apply to my 83 Trans Am. All I have now is my crappy Haynes and access to Mitchell which leaves a lot to be desired.

If by some miracle the book ever shows up, I'd be more than happy to get it done. Kinda looks like that guy just said a bunch of bs to get it with no actual intention of doing anything.

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
Then why don't you give it to someone that can scan it. That was the deal I made to you in exchange for the free manual, I didn't even charge you shipping ....
The are a few guys who want the info this book has and you led them to believe you could do what you said you would now they got left high and dry. I'm sure someone who has the time to scan it will pay shipping.

I'm not leaving any high and dry. I'm still scanning it. It's jsut taking longer. sorry if everyone thinks I'm a lying *****...but I'm not. and I'm insulted by the way everyone was talking about me without even asking me what was going on. and just to let you know, some of the BS on my plate right now is I'm fighting for custody of my daughter...for anyone who has seen, or gone through that process, it's a bitch and takes up a lot of my time. I'm working on the book, it will get done.

I wouldnt waste my time waiting for this guy, he never posted it here and probably never will. If he had so much on his plate as was his excuse then he should have never taken the book in the first place....oh well its gone now...interesting that he has plenty of time to post all the time yet no time to get it done and post the pdf as promised....apparently his word isnt worth anything....

Re: free 1984 firebird factory GM service manual
It's only about a thousand pages to scan. Shouldn't take THAT long.
Actually, since the GM Service Manuals are copywrited material, and they're still available and in print, it's a bit silly to expect someone to scan, edit, and upload that material for public use. It'd be nice, but probably also illegal.
On the other hand, there are a ton of used Service Manuals out there. It's not hard to find a cosmetically rough manual for $20-40, and if you look a bit you can usually find nice copies. If nothing else they can still be had new from www.helminc.com
People need to stop being cheap. If you want a real manual just buy one.
