Found B4C, whats it worth, what to look for?

Hey guys, like it says I found a B4C for sale. I have to verify everything first, as I have only seen pics of the car, not in person yet.
I am more into the Pontiacs and don't know much about the Camaro's...including the Police cars. I have inquired to get more info. I don't know the year. The car is in rough shape. The original rims are gone, the car is deffinately rusty from the pics, but the interior is nice. It runs, has 125k on the odometer. He is asking $1000.
What do I look for in rare or optional parts that should be on this car? Will B4C or 1LE etc. be on the RPO sticker list? I know to look for aluminum rear disc brakes.....
Is it worth the price in parts if the body is too rough to save?

RPO B4C will be the determining factor of if it is a real B4C or not.

What year is it?

Re: Found B4C, whats it worth, what to look for?

NOT all 1991's have the 1LE larger brakes, it was a mid year change, around May. ALL 1992's have the 1LE brakes however.

I will say this if it is a 1LE B4C it will definately be a better score than a non 1LE B4C. The neat thing about the B4C is they look like an RS with the Z28 Engine, Plain Jane Wolf in sheeps clothing scenerio.

A 1LE car would be worth the $1000 in parts alone for the brake setup.

Re: Found B4C, whats it worth, what to look for?

Well he finally emailed me back, but he forgot to state the year. He said he can't find the RPO tag, so it looks like I'm gonna have to go look at it. He also thinks that the wheels are original, but they are steel from what I can see...
If I can't find an RPO tag what should I look for?
-aluminum front calipers
-rear disc brakes, or aluminum rear disc
-RS badging
anything else?

RS badging, spoiler and hood with a TPI motor. That's normally a good sign.

Re: Found B4C, whats it worth, what to look for?

beware of rust..... i bought my 91 B4c non 1le for $1400 originally a wisconsin car. so far i've spent as much on suspension replacement parts(granted i went umi not stock) and ls1 front brakes to replace the worn rusted stockers it once had. plus it take alot of work, time and effort to replace parts since all screws are basically welded from rust. think twice be4 buying as the car will spend more time being worked on then driven specially at first. with that said i still love mine lol

Re: Found B4C, whats it worth, what to look for?

I live in the rust belt. -> trust me when I say I know about rust! lol. I will decide if the car is worth saving when I go to look at it. It will probably have to be parted out though.
P.S.- he is ASKING $1000, I usually can do a good job of getting the initial number dropped. If it is rusty enough that it needs to be parted out I will shoot him $500 and see what he says...

Did you get the car, I was doing a search on B4C's and this came up. My local PD has a mint B4C that they still drive. I wish I could get my hands on it

Yeah the car was behind me for 10 miles and pulled off into the station. They also have an old vette that they still use. The maro looks clean, I am trying to get a viewing so I can take pics but who knows if the cops will let me
