No. Also my catalyst sticker shows spark plug gap to be set at .035. Yours must be a very early car. Mine is a May 85, Norwood car.
Hope his helps.

Are you adding the gray/black stripes above the gfx or just the door stickers?

Re: 1985 Recall notice for spark plug gap
This might help. Here is the sticker off my 85 03C IROC. It has the gap set at 0.035. Note at the bottom of my sticker it has California, is yours a California car?

Re: 1985 Recall notice for spark plug gap
Nice info guys, again I alwys thought the the HEI was designed for better spark at wider gaps. My car still has the orginal plugs and wires. Seems to start just fine.

Re: 1985 Recall notice for spark plug gap
I have a Van Nuys built car in this range.
I don't think I have the original ignition coil any longer though. What do I need to be concerned about if I'm still running .045 gap?
What are the performace effects of .045 compared to .035??
Just wondering...

Re: 1985 Recall notice for spark plug gap
Larger gap produces larger, higher KV spark and keeps plug heat down. Smaller gap increases spark current and raises plug temp. Colder plug temp is better for in town, crowd conditions. Higher plug temp helps reduce warm up emmissions and improves warm up drivability. GM must have had some concerns over cold start performance to change the gap. I don't remember that from my time at the dealer.

Yes of course, high coil temperatures caused by higher KV. That makes since. I have seen a few internal coil HEI systems with burned up coils. Generally because of failed wires and neglected plugs which push the KV even higher and further stress the system.
