Stock 1982 Z28 Camaro

I have a 1982 Z28 Camaro and I am looking to make stock as possible looking. If you have a all stock 1982 Z28 I would love to see pictures of the car. I mean the whole car interior, exterior, engine bay. I wouldn't mind if the air conditioning and emissions controls are removed though since that is what I am doing with mine.

Check out this website.
The guy does a phenomenal job restoring a 1982 Pace car edition.
Tons of pics to use for reference.

Thanks that is a great collection of pictures. Unfortunately mine isn't a pace car edition.

Re: Stock 1982 Z28 Camaro

It doesn't have to be a pace car edition to get ideas for restoring your car. Colors may be different but the cars are the same, dependent on what engine and transmission you have.

Dang man, That PACE car is awesome. That kid and his dad did some awesome work. I wish more of the early third gen Camaros would get restored. You always see more later 85-up cars.

I agree I personally prefer the 82-84 to the 85-92s.

Would a stock '83 do? Not much changed from 82-83. I still have to put the stock radio back in it. And I have replaced the console lid since these pics were taken.

P.S Not original paint, but it is the correct color. The ground effects should be silver, but I wanted her all red.

I will. Yeah I have noticed that too. I never see early third generation Camaros. I see plenty of later ones, but not early ones.

Re: Stock 1982 Z28 Camaro

I have a few NOS parts for an 82 Z I sold years ago. Specifically, these wheel cap inserts. These are NOT repops. GM part # 14035332. PM me if interested.

Re: Stock 1982 Z28 Camaro

Or, how about the wheels center caps to go along with the inserts. Again, these are NOT repops - they are NOS in the original GM boxes. GM part # 110154284. This is a set for four. The instrution sheet in every box is dated Feb. 1989. PM me if interested.

It was cool to see the old pix of the 82's when new. I have to say I love the the cluster set up in the 82. The duel speedo is just killer. Hope all goes well with the restore for the OP.

I'd like to see this one completed. While I like the mods on some of the 3rd gens, I prefer the look of a bone stock classic.

I will post some pictures after body and paint. The paint colors I picked are the closest I could find to my stock paint.

I agree 100%. AND, bone stock will fetch the most $$ in the future if a owner decides to sell. Been that way for years in the Vette and 1stgen Camaro worlds. Ask me how I know.

Yes, mods are fun on a car that has lost it's factory motor, tranny, etc. and I've 'wrenched ' on many of them.

However, If 3rdgen F-Bodies are ever to gain respect in the Automobile World, owners need to stop 'hacking-up' desirable examples and present them just the way GM did.

I agree I doing the opposite with my Z28. It was already all hacked up and I am gonna put a lot of it back to stock.
