Which t-top bags for which years?
Reposting this in the history/resto forum since I got no replies in the Interior forum.
Scored big at work, found a near mint third gen GM/Fisher Body logo t-top bag with velcro/instruction label in the back of an '80 Corvette that we bought. It's a little different from the one in my '91 T/A though, mine has no logos and zippers instead of velcro (which a previous owner broke the pull tabs off of), and no instruction label (maybe had it once but someone removed it?).
I'm wondering what style is correct for which years...I would not be the least bit surprised if the plain/zipper style one was NOT correct for my car, since the its t-tops are definitely off a different car (glass instead of Lexan, plus different key for the lock cylinders).
Regardless, I like my new one a lot better than my old one, those zippers were really difficult to move, especially with both pull tabs missing. Not to mention the straps are still black and easy to move instead of gray and dry-rotted, plus I think it just looks better with the logos.

My '83 has both the Fisher name as well as the coach embossed and next to it has GM embossed. The '85 just has GM.

Re: Which t-top bags for which years?
from what I have seen in factory cars
85-89 logos and zippers
not 100% sure where the split is exactly
90-92 no logo and zippers
the vette will have a different bag becaues the tops are different than a 3rdgen.

Re: Which t-top bags for which years?
Cool, thanks for the responses! Based on this info, it looks like the bag that I took out of my '91 was correct, and the dual logo/zipper bag that I just got is probably 1982-83 or 1982-84. Must've come out of a nice car, I'll bet it's been in that '80 Corvette for decades.
But yeah, just like 2nd gen's, Corvettes always had separate bags for each t-top, with only the 78-82's having set mounting locations/hold down straps.

My 85 Norwood car has an upside down GM logo and zipper. Have seen other 85 Norwood cars featuring upside down GM logos as well.

Re: Which t-top bags for which years?
I'm pretty sure the Velcro bags were used in cars that had a factory installed "locking storage cover" in the hatch and Zipper bags were used in cars without that locking cover. Just about every berlinetta I ever owned &/or parted has had a Velcro type bag in it. (The locking storage cover was standard equipment - not optional - in Berlinettas. )
